I would just like to say THANKS to ALL the Men & Woman in our Armed Services, who are away from home & keeping us safe. If we agree or disagree with this thing going on, THEY are the ones putting their bodies at risk 24/7 . God Bless the USA !

right..!!on......its hard for some to think this way but ..if you have a loved one or friend that is 5,000 miles away getting shot at or dealing with the daily grind of war..... give em a toast as you eat your turkey...good karma...for those that want to go the extra mile..

i'm thankful most of all for my husband, he's a great guy and i am very lucky to have him putting up with me! thankful for three great kids, and that my oldest will be home for christmas as well as his 21st birthday.

thankful i won't be spending tomorrow with anyone but my hubby and kids, and that tony and i managed to get tickets to the lsu game! we'll be heading south after eating dinner.

hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. anyone travelling, be safe and watch out for the other guy, as he may not be watching out for you!

enjoy your day, i hope that everyone gets to spend it with people they enjoy, and that it's not too stressful! nothing worse than feeling you have to spend a day with someone just because--it's a holiday, enjoy it!!!!!

I'm thankful for my wonderful wife and my two sons (12 & 9) Even though the older one just kicked my butt two games straight at Madden.

I'm thankful for what I do for a living. I don't make A-Rod type money, but I love teaching. 5th & 6th graders are fun & frustrating, but they come in the room never knowing what to expect.

I'm thankful for the many friends I have, but more importantly, the E-Street guys. I know a lot of you think it's some stupid childish reference. Meet the folks of E-Street, then you'd understand.

I'm thankful for the patience many of you have had with me. I've learned a lot from you folks. When I first joined I read and reacted, now I read and for the most part try to understand what is being said. I thought I Knew a lot about horse racing until I joined this board.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Beside the obvious thankfulness for my family and loved ones, I can honestly say that I am thankful for horse racing. Less than four years ago, I was a workaholic with no hobbies and very little life (a slight exaggeration but close) but then I found the track - I found a hobby and something that mentally challenged me, addicted me and never ceased to amaze me. I'm still a bit of a workaholic but now when I am away from work, I don't think about work, I think about the races.

I am truly thankful for a $4,000 claimer by the name of Proud Patrolman - he has been a part of my days at the track since I first fell in love with this sport and my current goal in life is to provide a retirement home for this nine year old warrior - my partner and I are working to get Proud Patrolman a home with GEVA, a home for retired horses. They do amazing work and I'm a proud supporter of their work - if you'd like to thank an organization that takes care of our favorite former athletes, please go to http://www.glenellenfarms.com/geva/ and make a donation. Just tell them that Proud Patrolman sent you!

In life in general I'm thankful for my family and friends, my health. I am also thankful for the men and women in the armed services that put their lives on the line for us day in and day out.

In Horse Racing I'm thankful for the this Board and all the great fans of the sport that I have found in the last year. I would be remiss if I didn't say that i am also thankful that there are people like Steve who are getting the word out and promoting this sport.

Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Thanks to all here for one reason or another but most of all - thanks to Steve for bringing us all here. (And for many other things.)

I don't always appreciate it, but I am thankful for all the blessings in my life, starting with my family, kids, and friends.

Also thankful for the men and women of the US Armed forces who protect the freedoms we have and allow us to live freely in this great country.

Happy Thanksgiving to All...

Suffolk Shippers 11-22-2007 10:02 AM

I'm thankful for too many things to list, but just hope that everyone cherishes every moment with family and friends today. With busy work lives, things going on, kids, a trip to the track  sometimes we lose sight of the really important things like our family and loved ones. Hope everyone finds home to be warm and cozy today.

Good thread. So thankful that i'm able to come home and see both my mom and sister on this holiday, and thankful they are healthy and doing fantastic things in life. Thankful for my wonderful girlfriend, thankful for all my friends and family.

As far as racing goes, very thankful to work with such great people at two different tracks. thankful to get to live in two great cities and thankful to get to see america when i drive between the two (36 hours LOL) just thankful to be a part of the game and to get to work where most people choose to spend their free time.

Giving Thanks

As many have already said:

Thanks to my children Spencer and Lila and my wife Wendy who allows me to follow my dreams (including owning horses). To the good health of our family ... To the men and women who put their lives on the line... To those who don't jump all over me when i make mistakes and give myself a second chance...

Thanks so much to Chuck and his crew and their work with Sumwon as i can say from firsthand experience that it is so hard to get a young horse to the races and the partners in Sumwon (big thanks to Steve for his creative idea allowing us all to share his vision in becomeing partners) are truly blessed with her year at the races in 2007.

Looking forward to 2008 when all of the yearlings that Chuck just purchased make their way to the races.....

And always, a big thanks to the racing gods who allow me and my family to spend our special time at Saratoga in the summer.....

Happy Thanksgiving to all DerbyTrailers..

Paul

I am thankful for most of the same things everyone has already said, and thankful that we do still have some very good people in the world like the members of this site.

Hope everyone has a great day, not much for me besides football. My family decided to have our Thanksgiving on Saturday (should be illegal) because my dad, brother, and bro-in-laws have to work. It wouldn't be the same without everyone together, so I guess it's best we do it Saturday.

MISTERGEE 11-22-2007 12:06 PM

just wanted to say happy thanksgiving to all fellow members of this site. may we have much to be thankful for in the coming year most especially our family and friends good health. with that we can work on anything else. even our handicapping. i believe we are so lucky to have something here at derby trail that we enjoy so much as our hobby or job or investment. to me the best thing that we can be thankful for in this great game of horseracing is the fact that we always have hope. be it for cashing the next big ticket, or watching our horse cross the finish line in front. best to all!!

SCUDSBROTHER 11-22-2007 01:22 PM

Since it is indeed Turkey Day,let me just say I'm thankful Turkey is not known to be nuclear armed...........Thanks, so much
