Went six wide in the seventh and still didn't have the eight horse.

But had 5 of 6 in contest picks ... x2. x3 if I get the fav in the fifth after the two scratched. Still wouldn't have made much profit though.

Clip-Clop 11-01-2007 04:54 PM

Took a shot.

I guess I was late, that is what I get for having a day job.:(

Never could have come up w/ Coa @ 2-1. Must have tried to sneak one by.

What can you do. It's not like I won with any clever horses in the sequence. Plus I only put in $280 and I couldn't have hit it for $20K.

I just saw that 5 of 6 paid $316 so if you had that, which it seems you did, for maybe a couple times, at least you didn't lose any money on that play.

Yeah, I had two consos. I also used the hopeless Contessa entry in the 7th ( the second finisher was a " C " for me and I lost the Cs when the first winner won as she was a " B " ).

On the other hand, if the second finisher had won I would have had the Pick-4 for a few bucks on a hedge play. Though, I did well in the finale anyway so it's close to a wash.

I must admit, I put in all of 12 minutes coming up with that contest-only play early this morning. Had I truly handicapped, I probably would have gotten 2.. And I "borrowed" Gus' single in the 5th to get the play under $800.

Living in Tampa, I've LOVED that guy from the first time I saw him...Won the Inaugrual and the Pasco stakes as a 2 yo....thought if he could stretch out he'd be a world beater....to know he could have been had for 16K - did anyone claim him?

I know you are in the business and i know that you are well regarded and i know that you think very very highly of yourself. I can tell all of this from all of your past posts.... That said, how about a little humility instead of all of the arrogance???

What arrogance is that? That poster asked me a question and I answered.

You, frankly, have a great deal of nerve behind your computer. I have given my time on this site, who's idea was it in the first place to have these Pick-6 contests and who monitored them in the past, as well as on Steve's radio show, going over numerous Pick-6 carryovers at absolutely no personal gain to me. What the hell have you contributed and who the hell do you think you are coming on here and both determining how I respond, lecturing, and insulting me?

But, hey, it's all good, as I basically don't post here anymore because of the likes of you.

PSH 11-02-2007 12:19 PM

Hey

Everyone has an opinion.....
I have never met you so in one respect you are right...
What right do i have to judge you?
That said, there is a certain tone to all of your answers that maybe i am just misjudging.... Just because you give your time to shows and this board doesn't make you or anyone else, myself included a saint...

It's sad Andy. I was just talking to a fellow DTer yesterday at lunch about you less frequently posting here. We came to the conclusion that you didn't feel like dealing with some of the nonsense on the board and the personal attacks. No less than 24 hours later it happens. I'm sure I'll get reamed for saying this and not that your ego needs stroking (making a joke) but there are some of us out here that enjoy your humor and appreciate your knowledge.

Just because I even saw the word CHEAT in response to this contest, even if it was in my defense (thanks BTW), I need to point out that cheaters do not generally go four deep when one knows the winner. No???:D

It's hard to imagine how anybody could possibly have thought you cheated, and I assume it was equally obvious that I was joking around about you " past-posting ", as if anyone actually deliberately did that, and used four horses to cover up their deceipt, then they are beyond teasing ( and help ). Hard to believe that was the case.

For the record Andy I was kidding you hopefully my little quip didn't provide gasoline to what , unbeknownst to me, was already a raging fire of ill feeling.

If I was pounding your keyboard I would never give out choices here as undoubtedly you would be crucified for other players losing wagers.

I do wish you would learn to use the "ignore" button more so morons like some of the above didn't get under your skin and ruin the opportunity to appropriately exchange thoughts with you.

Who knows maybe you know all about the ignore button and this will never be seen by you.....lol. Either way if you are reading a good number of us enjoy the exchange and wish you weren't so scarce. (sp?)

Guess there is enough voices here who think i am a moron or whatever for voicing my opinion on a response to someone kidding whereby i simply misread the humor or kidding.... Sorry to all that i offended. Obviously, this moron needs to go elsewhere for voicing his opinion that is shared by many as i am not the first one to express this type of opinion. I am man enough to admit my errors and as i have learned many times over in life everyone is replaceable. Thus, i will recuse my self from this board and move on ....

Sorry again.

hey PSH, it wasn't the first misunderstanding, nor the last. imo its not necessary to recuse yourself. i hope you stay. from time to time we've all misread what others mean on here. you admitted it and apologized which says a lot i think.

tomorrows another day with more racing that we can look forward to. hope to see you around.

Clip-Clop 11-02-2007 08:39 PM

Thanks

Can't we all just get along? I do need help, by the way, my wife tells me all the time!! Nobody should leave this board for any reason. We should all be very thankful to have a place like this where the FANS of this wonderful sport can get together and discuss, compete and reflect. I personally consider myself very lucky to be part of such a great thing and it is upsetting to think that anyone would walk away from the only quality outlet we have to speak about our, at least my favorite sport.

Thanks to Steve and all those involved for providing such a place.:o

If this sounds a little preachy, it should. I got to go to my first Breeders Cup this year and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Is that you Rodney??

IMO...it didnt come across as arrogant. I mean, its the truth...the guy does get paid for his pre-race picks.

Clip-Clop 11-02-2007 08:46 PM

Rodney?

Nope, name is Dan. I think I just replied to something else from you. I will miss seeing EC on the track too. Best horse we've had in a while.

Please don't fed HIS EGO with this hilarious horse. We will all be reading about 9 threads tomorrow morning about how great the horse was.

This is a paid advertisement from Scav, trying to save DT from Kev's ED wrath.

His famous quote during the riots that ensued from the cops being found not guilty was..."Can we all get along?"

Good to have you on the board.

This is some apology.

Let me explain what you seem to be missing......someone asked why I didn't share my opinions on this Pick-6 before the races. I responded honestly by saying I get paid to share my opinions and thus don't give them away for free. This is all true. Plus, frankly, I bet this Pick-6 and whether you believe it or not it is more than possible had I laid out my Pick-6 play prior to the close of betting then someone may well have either bet my play or used my opinions to supplement their play. Now, suppose I hit the Pick-6 and even one other person hit it as well because I gave my opinions here. That would have been money directly taken out of my pocket ( and perhaps substantial money ). How could I possibly allow that to happen? This is not arrogance, and if you played the horses seriously ( and I don't mean this as a criticism ), I think this would be abundantly clear to you.

I am not a multi-millionaire and work hard to make a living in this game. I simply cannot afford to give what I have to sell away. If that is arrogance then I need a new dictionary.
