EQ seems to have tailed off. shame too, as i think he's a nice horse, and started off lights out. so hard to make a stallion, getting harder every year.

parsixfarms 10-15-2007 04:17 PM

I wouldn't give up on Elusive Quality too soon, the results of those large books of $100K mares should be hitting the track soon.

slotdirt 10-15-2007 04:20 PM

His runners aren't performing compared to the mares sent to him at least in 2007. His lifetime stats are slightly better.

Coach Pants 10-15-2007 04:25 PM

I'm available.

My fee is a pack of Newports and a double-deuce of Bud.

yes, those were the indexes i was referring to. DH was so far greater than anyone else it was just ridiculous.

my namesake had one of the better ratios too at least! i think starting in 2010 or 2011, there will be a big upswing in the quality of IC runners.

Anne Peters is designing the matings for Smarty. She's got a good track-record in the field.

Maybe you can do a stallion primer with the noted pedigree expert PG1985. You both seem to be on the same page.

Eddington wasn't a success as a race horse but he may be just as good as Empire Maker.. <-- have any of his babies done anything?

Anyway.. I recently saw Eddington and he was a real character. and TALL

I loved Eddington... I remember he was quite the head case on the track.

Until last week, no. But he now has a G1 winner in Country Star...

I have to disagree on the comment that Eddington wasn't that good on the racetrack. His 4YO season was turning into something special before he was injured. Millionaire, graded winner at 3 and 4, GI winner as well. I don't see how that is anything other than a success actually.

Successful but not memorable.

His daughter Country Star won the G1 Alcibiades. He's only had a couple of winners but they have looked good. CS debuted on the grass, running second. They want routes so they should be getting a bit better at this time of year.

Distorted Humor stood 2003 for 20K....he was 60K in '05 and 225K for '07
Awesome Again stood 2003 for 50K....went to 125K in '05 and 150K in '07

and for the record smart strike was 35K in 2005... not 20K, that was 2003...

freddymo 10-16-2007 08:18 AM

I remember a few years back reading some posts on the Pedigree Query board and some guy would shut up about Smart Strike. It was Smart Strike is this and Smart Strike that back and forth over and over again.. He was dead right.lol

best guess is that they haven't made up their minds yet....praying something he has sired decides to run so they don't have to drop his fee....because right now he isn't going to fill at last years 25.
