Im pretty sure IrishofNDman had a rough weekend, first his beloved ND got an @ss whipping by my Penn State team. Its a good thing he wasn't sighted in Happy Valley. Second his Brownie Troopers got thier @sses whipped by another one of teams from Pennsylvania: the Steelers. I think they wished they were selling Girl Scout cookies instead of making a an attempt of trying to impersonate someone that knew how to play football. A great weekend for two of my teams fromthe Keystone State.

Penn St. might be able to take the Browns this year :D .... Browns were outright horrid the other day. Traded Charlie Frye already. Brady Quinn will be in sooner than later.

Wow...How in the hell do these 2 coaches(N.D.-MICHIGAN) get to keep their jobs? Reminds me of the pathetic days of Ted Tollner at U.S.C.

Charlie Weis has done a pretty good job at ND also, especially with two consecutive huge bowl appearances. You can't make coaching changes after two games in my opinion. NT |

No,I don't think it's premature.They aren't the team that almost beat S.C. 2 years ago.No amount of Priest's wafer is gunna change that. |

If you think so, tell me an available college coach right now who'd be doing a better job with the talent Charlie Weis has. NT |

i agree weis should not be fired and given a chance to turn around the program. they won 10 games his first season but did NOT beat a quality team and he had some talent. they won games on weis' schemes because DC's couldn't prepare for his offense. last year they scored few points because DC's had 1 years worth of films to study and he had less talent especially on defense. this year he has a decent defense and NO offensive line and no experience at qb. nd line troubles won't get fixed this year or next because weis didn't recriut and sign lineman. Saban and Alabama are in the same boat. shula signed skill people and NO lineman. |

You then said that I am requesting we give Weis a "long time." If you consider three seasons a long time, then yeah, I'm asking for a long time. Your post wreaks of a bad sports attitude right now that coaches should be given no slack for even part of a bad season. You are talking about firing a guy who was the toast of South Bend two years ago, given a TEN YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION, and is now piecing together a team that lost every major skill position player. Hell, if ND wasn't planning on giving Weis the entire 2007 season to get this team straightened out, then they should have fired him over the summer. The Rooneys could have pulled the plug on Bill Cowher numerous times. The Jazz could have done so with Jerry Sloan. Paterno could have gotten fired, same with Bowden. Sometimes coaches deserve some time and I'm quite confident more than two games is a necessary amount of time. NT |

That said, he has only been there two years and only had one recruiting class to work with (last year), but I would not advocate giving him a free pass for the whole season. He needs to show major improvement as his kids get playing time and their schedule seems to set up nicely for a big finish so next year they can be overrated at the start of the season. |

Fat Ball AIN'T CUTTING IT. Now, how much more ass-kicking they gunna take before he is looking for a coordinator job for next year? I am not that smart, but I am smart enough to know this guy has gotta go.

10 year contract Scuds - not going to happen.

no one more popular than a winner...why weis is struggling so badly, i don't know. should he get the boot so quickly? not for me to decide. but i wouldn't be surprised if they did let him go. things are not the way they used to be.

No wonder he smiles so damn much on the sideline. |
What's a few more million? Look at how much they paid to the victims of priests in San Diego alone.

They look worse yet. I couldn't believe the number of empty seats. I'm off to a rough football season as far as my teams go. Syracuse 0-3 Notre Dame 0-3 N.Y. Giants 0-2 What's a guy to do? |
