Indian Vale's Shuvee flop was a shocker, but Todd must have found something because I don't believe she's worked since then. I wonder if she'll come back at all. That race was too bad to believed.........If she's ok, she's very talented. It would be a shame if she couldn't race again. |

As for Artie, I bet him last year because he loves BEL and looked to break through off of some tough-luck races, AND most importantly, there was a poor contingent of Euros unlike most years.....If the Euros bring their first string or even good second string they will win the Mile nine eight out of ten years IMO....Something will come over that is more formidable than Gorella IMO.... |

I predict Minister's Bid will win the Travers, I have been a big fan of his since his debut and boldruler, I remember you saying everyone knew about this horse: How did he go off at 10-1 in his debut, if everyone knew about him?
|
With the exception of Bullish Luck (and I say that only because who knows what will happen with SW and Vengeance of Rain - although he's doing nicely in his recovery), there will be a changing of the guard at the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong races at Sha Tin this year..... out with the old, in with the new. No surprise with Super Kid retired, Best Gift and Russian Pearl (still) injured.
Their names are Armada and Bulldozer. Armada... worked his way up quickly gaining those precious HK points. Unbeated and in the final Sha Tin race of the season (the Sha Tin Mile Trophy) defeated All's Well to take the Most improved Horse Award (he deserved it). Size trains..... undefeated (6 out of 6). Bulldozer..... a little different but worked his way up from Class 4 to Class 2 (3 wins, 1 place out of 7 starts). Trained by Yip..... he fights and fights and shows heart every time. Lovely horse and imagine the headlines! Bulldozer Crushes the Field. |
hmm..bold predictions.
bushfire wins the distaff, and top filly honors. lava man wins the bcc and HOY. deep impact schools the field in the arc. cacique win the bc turf, ouija board second. hasili (dam of cacique, banks hill, intercontinental) wins broodmare of the year. lost in the fog wins the sprint by a head bob. gorella gets her mile win over the boys. the jacksons get breeder of the year for barbaro and george washington. |
Bold prediction??
OK.... Corinthian defeats Ministers Bid in the final strides of the Travers. DTS |
DTS, I'm with ya!! Is Corinthian actually coming back for that? Man, I can't wait to see him run. I hope he's still in good form.
|
I will get drunk at the Track today and throw lots of tickets on the ground.
|
Irish,
I would love to see that happen. I'll keep my "ears" out for any news from Jim Jerken's barn and let you know. This would certainly be a triumph for both Jim J and Corinthian after a big disappointment. He won't run him if he's the least bit suspect. The Mid Summer Derby is what he was aiming for. Stay tuned. After just seeing him demolish another field, Afrashad is going to win the BC Sprint. I'm not sure if it's bold enough, but this horse is a freak.
|
I'll pick the Derby Winner in 2007.
(Can we list bold predictions for 2007?) |

I'd love to see him back too. I was just giving out a "bold prediction". There ain't no guarantees in this business. I have the highest respect for Jim Jerkens regarding his ability as a trainer. When I find out what's in the works, I'll post it. With that said, I also have lots of respect for Todd P. and Keirin Mc. Frank LaBocetta is a trainer that is way too often overlooked, as are Stanley Hough and Linda Rice....and Shug is going to have one-hell-of a toga-meet. There's another prediction. btw, I really like Minister's Bid. I hope he does really well. Deputy Minister's have been my hopes for quite a while...I've bred two to his son. DTS |
David Junior off the board in the Coral Eclipse (..... unlike Aussie Rules).
Alexandrova wins the Irish Oaks. Iffraaj wins the Darley July Cup. Peeress and Maraahel join Dylan, Araafa and Pride, who each add another Group 1 win this summer. Pride hits the board in the Arc. My Miss Storm Cat defeats the lovely and talented Dubai Escapade in the Princess Rooney. (Okay not really sure about that last one, but.....) :D |

Alexandrova did indeed win the Oaks (and another Group 1 yesterday) but the rest of mine have sucked. How about you all? I'll stand by my Pride-in-the-Arc prediction. Anyone wanna make some new ones? Must ponder..... |

I'll say that I think the BC winners will be:
Sprint-Henny Hughes/Bordonaro Distaff-Mo Cuishle/Fleet Indian Turf-Hurricane Run Mile-Cacique F/M Turf-Ouija Board/Film Maker Classic-Bernardini/Discreet Cat Hurricane Run becomes the first horse to win the Arc/BC Turf double and is named 2006 World Horse of the Year. Lukas wins one of the 2yo races at the BC. There will be a grade one in NY with only three horses. |
Bold Predictions
The new main track at Hollywood park will be a big hit and draw eastern based stables to the west. The Breeders cup races will be run on polytack in the next 10 years. Betsy will start dating Joel if Bernardini wins his next race. Lava Man will win HOY. |
Funny Cide will win the Woodward...given.
