i'm stoned farm ;) ....skipping stone farm. or not.

stone valley...stonelea...stonehenge--stonehedge is down in florida. stoney creek--do ya have a creek? rock creek--in maryland, but who cares...

rockabye farm.

can you guys tell my day went to crap and lasted too long??

This is what i do all day long on the job. Got nothing left after hours!

Everyone's got such great suggestions. "Stone" does seem to be used in a lot of farms, i like using Largo or Rock/Rocky Creek...

largo1 07-12-2007 09:29 PM

Okay, I guess I could make a prize for the "Name My Farm" contest. Would people want to spend a weekend here or would they be bored silly?

Rockland it is, when should I book my flight? :D

Past Post 07-12-2007 09:45 PM

Suzanne how big is the house itself in sq.ft.Do guests get to use the indoor bathroom or do they use the ott-house ?

largo1 07-12-2007 10:09 PM

Hahaha,
The house is nothing fancy, a 2005 doublewide on a full basement. I think it is 1700 square feet, plus the 1/2 finished basement. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathooms. Has a hell of a porch with an awesome view! Yes, the weekend would most definately include cooking......I am one helluva cook. I like to cook with all local produce/meats/herbs. Better for ya, and for the planet.

By the way, the barn being built is 32 x 50,,,big enough with plenty of room to add on to.

Suzanne

largo1 07-12-2007 10:10 PM

I don't actually have an outhouse, but you are welcome to piss in the woods!! (I do, its kinda fun!)

Suzanne

largo1 07-12-2007 10:12 PM

In fact, I actually *prefer* to pee outside. Is that normal or some kinda sick fetish?

Suzanne

The "Stone" moniker is very common, but it also works for a lot of people. Not sure if that fits into "branding" yourself and your farm. Making it second though might work, as posted prior -- Midstone, Middlestone, Centerstone, or something like that.

God Dam Girl !!

I can smell the food cooking way over here in Wisconsin. What time is dinner ??

Merlinsky 07-12-2007 10:32 PM

Soft Rock Farm?

Sorry, got the radio music idea instead of actual stones. Can't do Hard Rock as the cafe would probably sue you.

I also was trying to brainstorm types of marble and things associated with that. There's something of historical value called the Elgin Marbles-marble statues from the Parthenon. Elgin Farm?

Not the most spectacular suggestions ever I'm sure, I'm better with horse names. Elgin Farm is kinda catchy when you say it. Sounds almost Tolkien-ish. Marmara Islands are a source of marble. Marmara Farm. It sorta sounds like marinara which makes me hungry.

PPerfectfan 07-12-2007 10:40 PM

Stone Valley Farms is my pick. or how bout Good Life Farms?

gamblin4ever 07-13-2007 08:21 AM

how about WarsawRock Farm

rainmandon 07-13-2007 09:25 AM

Glamor Rock Farms

I'm taking the anagram route, glamor being an anagram of Largo M (for Marie). Good Luck! You could get artistic and make the "M" larger, to symbolize you riding Largo, something like GlaMor Rock Farms.

geeker2 07-13-2007 09:35 AM

Maybe Letsget Stoned Farms or Mariegets Stoned Farms ?

Payson Dave 07-13-2007 12:35 PM

Most of my acreage is in pasture/hay, almost all in front of my house, with a long drive and woods behind me. I just picked up a pizza and some cold beers at the local corner store, the only store for 15+ miles. I honestly think I died and went to heaven!!! And not that I'm looking right now(heck, I'm *plenty* busy), but the icing on the cake would be to have someone to share all this with. (plus the bills are piling up,,, LOL!!) But even alone I'm not really *alone*!! I've got all these pets, horses, friends and now a whole slew of nutty neighbors that I just love! I will be posting pix soon. Maybe I will photo-document the building of my barn here on Derby Trail.

how about BFE Farm?

"How about OSU Cheats Farm."

Geez, you guys are a tough crowd!!!
I was away from my computer all day yesterday and just read all your farm name suggestions. Lots of great ones. Leaning towards "Rockland Farm", or something with "rock" or "stone" in it. Or possibly with my favorite horse's name"Largo" in it. Still deciding but thanks for all the suggestions. I probably *won't* go with "OSU Loses to Florida AGAIN Farms"!!!

Thanks,
Suzanne

OSU doesn't cheat, went there and knew many football and especially basketball players. I was sitting on the 42 yd line in Tempe when they beat Miami to win the national championship. Best football game I've ever been to.

I was trying to come up with something with Buckeye and Largo in it, but haven't hit anything catchy yet... will keep trying.
