The Bid 07-06-2007 10:17 PM

I think he should have too. The one angle sure looked like Smith initiate the contact and Talamo was already in the spot

robfla 07-06-2007 10:17 PM

how much did they have to pay Bailey to get in the winner circle presentation?

The Bid 07-06-2007 10:18 PM

10k apperance fee

the fact that it happened in an awkward spot for the cameras was one reason he was not DQ'd. the fact that he stayed in his path was the other reason

he'll come on very offficial like "ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please", makes you think its coming down, then he says no change.

by the way, no way could i see any change to that one. not conclusive who was at fault.

I dont like Mike Smith, its Mike Smiths fault my cheeseburger at Steak and Shake was over cooked. Mike Smith is at fault for almost everything in life, including Talamos horse trying to prop.

I really believe that is one of the reasons that Gulfstream Park replaced him.
Last winter, Spun Sugar (Stronach/Pletcher) made her '06 debut in an OC100K, but of course she wasn't in for the tag and Vic stated after the race that she was claimed over the loud speaker (Bad Joke). Pletcher was red hot and made a major complaint against him. That was the last straw at GP in IMO.

robfla 07-06-2007 10:27 PM

everyone thinks the 1 is a lock here... I'm going to try and beat him.

It's his fault all my singles lost at Belmont today.

It's his fault I only made one birdie playing golf today.

It's his fault the 24-1 shot won the 2nd.

The Bid 07-06-2007 10:37 PM

Rob, did you get to that place when you were down here for Derby?

It has to be the worst Steak and Shake in the franchise.

My buddy had Mike Smith sign a dollar bill the night he won the Derby with Giacomo.

That dollar is now worth 11 cents.

So he's responsible for the inflation crisis and high oil prices, too? Not surprising.

The Bid 07-06-2007 10:40 PM

HAHA, now someone tell me how Talamos horse almost propping wasnt Mikes fault. Hes deflated a dollar, killed phils golf game, and caused my dinner to be burned up by a 17 year old kid. Mike Smith is the black cat of racing, if he crosses your path get ready to lose something or have something go bad

The one across the river in Indiana is ok.

Scav 07-06-2007 10:42 PM

Glad I pissed it away doing something else....

robfla 07-06-2007 10:43 PM

Some very odd rides this evening. Talamo takes back on a speed horse despite very pedestrian fractions.

Scav 07-06-2007 10:44 PM

I would stay away from Talamo tonight, Abrams was seen on TVG chewing him an a 2nd ******* and that ride was moronic. SHOOT THE F'n RAIL

The Bid 07-06-2007 10:44 PM

I didnt look at that race and thought for sure Mike was on the 3. That was a Mike Smithesque ride

He's Garcia's mentor.

I made that up, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm not the fan of Talamo that most are. He's got a lot to learn in terms of judging pace, yet. That race being a classic example... no reason to take back off of a 23 & 46 2/5 pace

Bogey 07-06-2007 10:50 PM

Price Tag being hammered at the windows with 23MTP - She obviously has a big shot, but Koiuta and Lady of Venice are more than capable

Jax Cajun 07-06-2007 10:50 PM

What do we make of all these Japanese horses in the 5th? Or should we even worry about them?

The Bid 07-06-2007 10:53 PM

Japanese are too efficient to ship 3 over here and get no candy

Koiuta, her form looks like she started as an early 3yo with promise beating top filly Asahi Rising and was favored over her. Plenty of gaps and bad loses, but she's now a Group 1 winner. She would not be shipped over if she wasn't well meant.

The 4 is a serious horse. 16-1 is ridiculous!

The Bid 07-06-2007 10:58 PM

I think Kiss to Heaven is their best shot

Wouldnt be shocked at all to see them run 1 2 with any of the three, but thats my favorite of the group

Is every horse in Japan a descendant of the great Sunday Silence now??

Jax Cajun 07-06-2007 11:01 PM

I don't know anything about these jockeys though, Uchida jumped from KTH to Koiuta. I'm sticking with the home team. Dancing Edie looks live, she rode the rail last time and the 6 in the 3rd race nearly wired the field. I'm doing a 1-5-6 tri box. I can't leave Raffy out.

Scav 07-06-2007 11:02 PM

And more so on tonight's ridiciulousness, playing games, trying to look cute for all of Japan who is watching on TVG.

One a brighter note, I have downloaded the new Smashing Pumpkins CD, PRETTY GOOD. Really surprising quite honestly.

The Bid 07-06-2007 11:03 PM

I like the Aussie filly tomorrow, but the only filly I give a shot to beat her is the Robe Decollete
