He told me Mayan King was a good one at Saratoga when he was a 2YO ... the horse, not Gary. He could have sold Mayan King as a 3YO for $1.2 million ... but he advised Mr. Partridge to hold onto him ... just before he got injured. His comeback has been quite exciting ... and his last race showed he really has the class Gary said he did. There are all kinds of factors going against him ... so if he wins tonight it will really show something special. I haven't made a serious bet on a horse since 1967 ... and my streak continues. |

OK, it's 18 mins to post and Mayan King opened at 2-1 (15-1 morning line)... I guess you did bet the dog on this one!!! ;) |

BWWAAAHHHAHHAHHAHAAAA!!...I just noticed that to....2-1???...Are you kidding me?...Freaking hilarious...the morning line odds maker there should be shot.... I was going to bet Mayan King but I'll probably go for Alumi Hall at that price...wow... |

9-1 on Alumni Hall.. not bad... worth taking a shot. |

Might we click our heels together thrice and say Mayan, Mayan, Mayan, and the imaginary HOY will appear . So much for brilliance and predictions .

No problem with making predictions. I give the man credit for sticking his neck out. No shame in that at all. More people should do that instead of redboarding about horses after the fact.

It was way past his bedtime ... and Gary made a big mistake sharing his sfogliatella with the horse in the paddock. Those things sit like lead in the stomach for hours.
And ... hey ... I never predicted he'd win this race ... I just said he'd be Horse Of The Year ... so we'll just have to wait and see who's right about that. |
Never...ever...ever....ever...
doubt Bold's ability to cover his ass. :D |

You are quite right, At least he stuck his neck out. Redboarding is too easy and very un becomming.

Takes real guts to make a statement BEFORE a race. More folks should attempt this rather than just waiting for a result and then tearing apart those with the guts to put it on the line before the event has occurred. |

So far ...
... I've made dead-on-correct long-range predictions about Smuggler, Bernardini, Songster, Barbaro, Lost In The Fog, and Funny Cide ... ... and my Mayan King prediction is still up for grabs. I'll stand by that record ... and welcome documentation from others about the results of their long-range predictions. Redboarders ... however ... can keep their own counsel. Oracle, Randall, and Tony have done a very good job of making that quite clear. |
I predicted Dynever would be the 3YO champion after he finished second in his debut.
|
You were dead on about Lost in the Fog? I think not...
This "Fraud" has won the following stakes and is still going: Arizona Juvinile Sunshine Millions Dash Swale Stakes Bay Shore Riva Ridge Carry Back King's Bishop Aristides He has won at 9 race tracks, has has won 10 stakes, he has made a million dollars, he has gotten a 97 beyer or higher in every one of his races, he has gotten a beyer above 110 four times, and he has faced decent compeition (Over 12 of the horses he beat came back to win graded stakes, including a track record and and a world record). But just because he had one off day in which he had a valid excuse for, you claim you were right about him all along. One race does not make a horse. I would be more impressed if you had said he would be a superstar after watching his debut, like I did. If you make enough predictions, I am sure some will stick. |
First of all....isn't it fairly obvious that most of what BB says is, at least somewhat, tongue-in-cheek?
But, LITF's " knockers " were basically correct. The simple fact is that he is nowhere near as good as his cheering section would make people believe. I applaud his owners, they danced all the dances all over the country, and it is not their fault there was no competition. And, LITF is a very nice horse who performed admirably, but his actual performances were in severe contrast to the massive adulation he recieved. He was a good horse but in no means some kind of super horse. Other than finally meeting decent horses, what, praytell, was his " valid " excuse in the BC? It seems horses that unsurprisingly disappoint always have some mysterious excuse. |

And I do give Bold credit for sticking his neck out and making a prediction about a horse. I do that, but 99.9% of the time, I'm wrong! :p |

I will only rip and tear into someone on here who "gurantees" that so and so won't win this race or that race or a race, etc. Thats just so cowardly as to be hysterical. It basically gives you every other horse in the race to root for and I have a hard time giving kudos to anyone who expects them for being right on such a cowardly statement. But I do delight in the embarassment of folks who make those cowardly statements and then end up being wrong. |
