Well folks, using the above logic, I now would like to tell you all that Chantal Sutherland is now my favorite jockey ever, not only that, but she may be the best of all time!! No question!!

I think you are being far too generous with your use of that word.

What do you call a puck bunny in horse racing??

I do not think I have every heard an expression for it in this game...

I don't know, but in NASCAR we call them 'pit lizards.' LOL

miraja2 05-08-2007 03:12 PM

Is there any chance of discussing the Preakness field anymore in this thread?

Haha, very similar to the infamous "lot lizards."

I was just thinking the same thing...

Here we go...

If Curlin does not go, does anyone think Chelokee (if he goes here), Sedgefield or KoR have any chance of stopping Street Sense or Hard Spun?

Does Xchanger have any shot?

I think Lukas has no shot at all, same with poor ole Teuflesburg, and the rest.

Does JuLep keep the mount on Sedgefield? I hope so.

I am seeing Street Sense in a romp in the Preakness. The Belmont should be filled with excitement! My girl Rags to Riches will be there to try and stop history in the making.

Cajungator, I love your avatar. Complete man! His eyes stop me!

Teuflesberg needs a break from Grade 1 monster route races but hey we all need someone to toss.

I look forward to Chelokee. Hopefully he won't disappoint like the other Gulfstream horses. Did CP West ever win tha allowance race:p

I think Daren miller is pointing Dominican to the last leg. With a smaller field maybe Domincan can be competive.

I hate to interrupt Pletcherfest, but I just had a question about Pimlico. I think I was listening to ATRAB the other day and somebody described it as a course with tighter turns and a shorter stretch than Churchill Downs. If this is true, do these features give any advantages or disadvantages to any certain running styles? I would be interested in hearing what people think.

Every year, the topic comes up and it's assumed that the dynamics of the course give frontrunners a greater chance to succeed than at CD, and while that may indeed be true, historically, the most successful horse at PIM is the stalker, coming from just off the pace.

I think it'll be interesting if Street Sense is able to hug the rail like he always does with the tight turns, because chances are, there will be room with horses fanning wide.

The Indomitable DrugS 05-09-2007 11:56 AM

Sedgefield can be scratched off the list. Story at DRF.

tycharles01 05-09-2007 01:25 PM

Is Street Sense and Hard Spun that good that only Teuflesberg wants to challenge them again?? WOW

U would think atleast 1 or 2 of these closers would try and see what they can do

tycharles01 05-09-2007 01:42 PM

Liqudity pointed to Ohio Derby

Great Hunter to Belmont Stakes

But funniest

STORMELLO main goal is the Breeder's Cup Dirt Mile????

Do they know that there will be actual Grade 1 winners and not just allowance and grade 3 winners?

tycharles01 05-09-2007 05:57 PM

Just read that Mint Slewlep is gonna enter the Preakness

See this is what happens when we cant find 14 good horses

slotdirt 05-10-2007 09:24 AM

Just finally back from the Derby, and wow to Hard Spun. What an effort.

Hmm, I dont recall Clinton ever being married to Ethel Kennedy, but I'm sure if she ever got close to him he'd have shagged her.

Pretty sure he was saying that Pletcher's wife looks like Ethel Kennedy. LOL

easy goer 05-10-2007 01:51 PM

oh, sorry. She was nice looking back in the day, her recent appearances not very becoming. My wife has that same New england look.

tycharles01 05-10-2007 05:37 PM

I was listening too. What I thought Steve said was the turns were not tighter, but less banked, making it harder for horses that were wide on the turns to navigate. Possibly this is a post position issue? How far is it to the first turn?

I remember seeing something last year about this where someone superimposed Pimlico over Churchill and the turns were just about exactly the same. The tighter turns are allegedly a myth.
