He should clealry be trained up to the Preakness. His connections are just riding his coat tails for whatever they can get out of him. Embarrasing I think.

Notice Great Hunter was right behind those slow fractions and he was just as tired as T. Were the track conditions the biggest reason for T quitting all by himself? Trainers love their horses and believe in them more than people standing on the outside looking in. Still, I got to wonder what is up with the turf race against older talk. I guess she is hoping the race comes up light. I mean there are so many graded stakes races that T could be looking at only 5 other horses. :p

Jamie Sanders and Donnie Kelly bought a horse for 8 thousand dollars. The horse has run off 400 thousand dollars and is now a stallion prospect. What good is running in the Derby Trial? It does this horse absolutely no good to run on undercards, or overnights. Maybe you guys are missing the point. The point is to run this horse against the best, and let him get in where he fits in. Hes better than 15 horses what will go into the starting gate on Derby day. This horse has more than paid for himself, the goal is to get graded stakes wins, or places. Makes no sense to run him in any race that isnt of that kind, regardless of distance.

Jamie, the fact is he was beat a head running against a bias against the 2yo champion. He waxed Hardspun, he lost a head to Scat Daddy, exactly where does this horse belong? He belongs in any G1 race he can get into, regardless of distance, his class will carry the extra furlong.

Uh, Badge of Silver had dull turf efforts? He race prior to the BC Mile was a powerhouse win on turf at SA, the problem was it was nine months prior.

And he finished 3rd, despite setting all the fractions. It was a super training job by Frankel to even get him to the race.

Bid...I agree with you. Just because he is not the cream of the generation in everyones eyes does not entitle them to manage his career. this hard knocking horse has every right to go in the Derby or any other G1 they feel good about. I have NEVER bet on this horse and I probably won't ever bet on him, but I have no right to discuss where an owner/trainer should run their graded stakes performer with earnings of over $400,000.

The horse comes out and runs hard every other week. I've got no problem with that, you know I like him. But entering him in a G1 turf race for elders is just silly. He hasn't won a graded stakes yet and if they want to try him on turf the spot is the day before in the Crown Royal, which he would be very competitive in. If that goes well, continue on to the Preakness.

Im just saying hes as good as almost any 3yo thats going to post in the Derby. They all have questions marks on distance as far as Im concerned. I would be much more comfortable betting Tberg, than Hardspun, or Scat Daddy, or most of the others for that matter. Im not saying he will win, but hes as honest as anything in there, more experienced than anything in there.

Im sure if he gets in he wont be waiting around for things to happen. He will take the race to them from jump street and they will have to come after him to win. I like horses that can dictate a race, he will be forward and running when they spring the gate.

Was Badge O' really good enough in the Mile? If I remember correctly (if I'm thinking of the right horse), he was the longest shot on the board in the BC Mile and looked utterly hopeless on paper (and even said so before the BC with people agreeing with me). I must be thinking of the wrong horse then...

Probably. Badge was a damn talented horse. He ended up going off at like 20-1ish, probably 8th choice? less than the winner, in fact...
