Let me chime in with this observation:
This female stripper was near the lowest rung of our society: poor, black, single mother, uneducated (but trying), and most importantly, a stripper. Put it all together and you get an individual who most likely has few defense mechanisms. She shows up at this private party as a stripper for hire. There was no bodyguard, as is the usual, to maintain order. Thus, she was really scraping the barrel doing this job. As a female, I find it REPUGNANT to know that a bunch of college boys would willingly use this pathetic human being for their own amusement. God only knows what went on there....but we know it wasn't rape. Nifong had a duty to investigate and protect both the students and this pathetic woman. In no way am I excusing her--no matter what her circumstances she has no right to lie. But, this should be a warning to everyone about treating people with dignity. Just because you CAN exploit someone (because of you income, gender or circumstances) you need to remind yourself that everyone deserves respect. I'm telling you...something went on in that house. It wasnt' rape. But it wasn't pretty either. |
Very amusing, in a Neanderthal kind of way.
Seriously, I wish you knew what it was like to be a female....just for 24 hours. All wise-cracks aside, the experience of being objectified by society would open your eyes. |

I also agree! I was gonna start down this road but figured I had stirred the waters enough...it connects to my point about "equality" remaining a bad joke in our society. I think I have some idea what happened in that house but hopefully, as the remarks of the one Duke player seemed to indicate, some eyes were opened. When people are dehumanized, they become easy targets...a lesson history has tried to teach us again and again! |

Michelle Malkin hosted the O'Reilly Factor tonight, and spoke with Mr. Shabazz who is involved with the New Black Panthers.
It was explosive, and indicative of everything I've been saying about this in the last two days: http://hotair.com/archives/2007/04/1...helle-hosting/ Second video down. It's priceless. She's great. |

"over 1,600,000 black women have been sexually assaulted and raped by white men since we came over on slave ships..." WTF??? was some kinda of poll conducted? |

Clearly Shabazz is an idiot. Quote of my week: "You're going to call me a whore on national television?!" - Michelle Malkin
You could see her drooling over it. For as bleeding heart as I may be sometimes, I find her incredibly realistic on her blog and in her appearances. |

Is Shabazz related to Malcolm X? I know his wife's name was Betty Shabazz as I recall... |

Know what would be a perfect world is giving the Black Panthers
and the KKK all the weapons and guns. Then put them on a remote island together so they can blow each others F ing brains apart so they can eradicate each other. How nice would that be. That would solve a lot of problems in the USA. Do bad this won't happenn Just watching the replay of "The Factor" Malkin is great she needs her own show. |

Funny thing is I wrote her an email tonight saying EXACTLY THE SAME THING. |

don't agree with some her view points. She is just a breath of fresh air. |

I listened to the Shabazz interview...I agree this guy is a fanatic and offers nothing to the debate. His attitude does illustrate the problem of mistrust of our legal system due to past abuses though. While Shabazz obviously has an agenda, this is an issue that must be overcome! |

sharpton and jackson got Imus off the air BUT when do the Duke Lacrosse players and team get THEIR apology???
they upset UVa today, does that make headlines? doesn't the Duke team deserve the same headlines that the RU ladies got for their semi-final victory? |

and then a guy at work, who also is a minister, told me i should understand things like these will happen as long as i work around men! yikes. thank goodness i know these are isolation incidents, and that most men can exert self-control. i also think those of us who say we should all be equal truly believe that, and thus feel that everyone thinks that way as well. it's always dammed depressing to find that not everyone shares that view. |
Of course the vast majority are decent.
I guess some work climates or situations breed bad behavior. You get a couple of loud mouths who have an agenda, and they can intimidate the rest of the group to mimic their behavior. It takes a real man to stand up to that. Just keep thinking about your wife, daughter, sister, mom, etc. How would it be if they were the target of bad behavior. |
