Congratulations and thanks to Chuck and the partnership participants, and all members of Derby Trail as well, for making it possible.

I find it hard to believe this really has been pulled off!

well good luck to all and sumwonlovesyou

Exactly...that's the first thing I said to my wife after I saw it.
I'll be a nervous wreck on Wednesday afternoon

99% sure - there was a fasig sale ( auction ) about a month and a half back for raced and older horses.

She was purchased in the Fasig-Tipton February Mixed Sale.. You get all kinds in it.. Broodmare prospects that could continue to race for new owners or be taken straight to the shed.. Horses like Sumwon that are early in their career.. Older horses being liquidated by stables leaving the game.. whatever. It's a "mixed" bag. Sumwon was a newly-turned 3 year old at the time, and with the win under her belt could have been bought a broodmare or to continue to race. She fit our the interests of our undertaking well as horse in training with some upside that had residual value as a broodmare prospect potentrially down the road.

If she does win I'm sure you'll have her on your derby top five list in a heartbeat.

Cannon Shell 04-07-2007 09:26 PM

AAUUUUGHHHHH! don't say that!

hey, you know...racing evidently 'ruins' horses.

I heard that

AeWingnut 04-07-2007 10:02 PM

Wow.. it's really happening

I have to drive over 6 hours 1 way but I am tickled to go.
This is great.
I think she will jump up 10 points on the surface switch
10 more on the change in distance and another 10 with Chuck.

She will be competitive. as long as I(the heaviest $2 in racing), don't bet her she could actually WIN

and I'm setting down the pipe now

Can someone tell me what is the proper etiquette on placing a bet for the jockey is?

wow.. going to Keeneland and watching my horse run:D

pmacdaddy 04-07-2007 11:14 PM

What is the purse distribution percentages 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ?

Looks like a tough spot. But it sure would be nice to see her able to hang with this group...

Thanks

Thanks

We are in deep.
Its a tough spot.
But she is in.
And thats what counts.
And now for the test.
Mr. Aewingnut. I will PM you. I want all the details as I will be at work.
Could not get my wife to go watch at the track. The place scares her.
Its nice to read the enthusiasm. I like the upbeat nature of this group.
Lets keep it that way.

Mr. Simon is clearly not in this to improve his win %.

Thanks Steve And Chuck, My Ear Will Be Glued To Sirius That Day For The Replay Of Our Horses Run. No Matter If She Wins Or Loses We Are All Winners With Sumwonlovesyou!!

Benny Leger 04-08-2007 12:19 AM

hooves:
How did you come up with Trensa as your play of the day. I would love to know the angle used for this pick. My hat is off to the" Ky. killing machine" for the pick, but I can't see how anyone could like this horse based on the pp's in the drf. Please tell me what you saw.

John,

Buy a ticket for Jimmie and in the paddock he'll slide it into his boot for luck..

brianwspencer 04-08-2007 09:02 AM

Not sure if anyone's said it -- but remember too that Keeneland's website offers free live video streams during their meets.

I know that at my work, I cannot access wagering websites, but I can access individual racetrack pages -- so some of you who will be at work may want to check that out as a viable option for watching your girl run live!

jpops757 04-08-2007 09:12 AM

If the race causes a change in surfaces. How will comming of the turf affect the race? Will she stay in ? Do you expect any scratches by others? With the cushion it appears that comming of the turf has less affect on the race.

pmacdaddy 04-08-2007 09:28 AM

I believe Chuck had said previously she will stay in if race comes off the Turf.

on a suuny day 04-08-2007 09:45 AM

The best of Luck to all involved and a safe journey for Sumonelovesyou
Will be ROOTING for you

good one chuck also on the parkas what a start to april.

dellinger63 04-08-2007 01:52 PM

Simply awesome. Still can't believe we pulled this off. I had a friend give me a baseball hat with D.T. Stables stitched in with a saying underneath that reads "Our Horses Are Sound It's Our Owners That Are Shaky!"

Thanks Again for the Opportunity. Can't wait for Wednesday though we won't be able to make the trip. Something about work. LOL
