I like Premium Tap.

I'd like to see Invasor and Premium Tap fighting down the stretch like MDO and Pleasantly Perfect in 2004. Box exacta though I'd give P.T. the edge since he's been over there for awhile.

He had already given MDO the ole evil eye.:D Funny thing about that race, I am life long friends with his exercise rider Crystal, our moms have been best friends for over 30yrs. We had a big old breakfast get together at her moms house to watch the race. We were so excited during the race that the phone starts ringing off the hook, it is 2 of the neighbors wanting to know what was the matter and if we needed the police. Seems we were cheering ole PP on just alittle to loudly!:eek: As you can tell by my screename I am alittle partial to him.

invasor!! his lone loss may have been vs discreet cat, but that was a year ago--and a rotten trip from what i understand for invasor, who was coming on again at the end. time to turn the tables, and get revenge for a blemish on his otherwise perfect record--and give DC one in turn!

If u watch the start, Invasor breaks smartly but is under pressure from a long long way out, it looked like he just couldnt go the gallop..
should be a cracker alright. would love DC to keep his unbeaten run going but Invasor is just such a tough horse!

bernardini was a great horse but everyone questioned what he beat going into the classic, everyone was wondering if he could beat really good horses, with discreet cat he has already soundly defeated a champion on his own track, silver train that is, on a track he loved... belmont, i think its totally different to compare the 2.

He beat Silver Train at Aqueduct but good try.

premium tap is another very good horse but he should be more like 8-1 morning line, i think he has a shot to win, but he should not be 9-2 morning line

yea correct he won the jerome at belmont, but either way silver train is better then anything bernardini ever faced that was the point i was trying to make.

You could have added the fact that Silver Train was never a champion, just a BC Sprint winner.

Spooky Mulder beat Silver Train. Hell, Tani Maru beat Silver Train. Away from Belmont he's not a very good horse. Premium Tap, who Bernardini beat is a much a better horse than Silver Train at a mile at Aqueduct.

OK, so Bernardini has faced less than Discreet Cat going into the showdown against Invasor if that makes you feel better. Of course Bernardini had run at the relevant distance prior to the showdown unlike Discreet Cat. Let's see if Discreet Cat can even beat Premium Tap at 10 furlongs before we worry about him against Invasor.

Brock, I think that win does mean something especially b/c it wasn't even close. This is DC's home track and he has shown an affinity for it....Just wish DC had a prep. Think he still wins, but it won't be easy.

Assuming the track plays even, it looks like Discreet Cats race to lose. There is very little pace in here and he should be able to dictate the race from the front end or just off the flank of one of the pretenders. He can run the turns as well as any horse in training and may have a sizable advantage turning for home. If he can get 2400 meters then I see him as the most likely winner.

Even though MDO was 2nd, I thought it was his best race. My daughter and I were also cheering for Pleasantly Perfect! My neighbors are used to it by now.

I just have this feeling that I will wake up tomorrow and read a headline something like this "Discreet Cat spikes fever - withdrawn from WC"

Or perhaps that DC is so far superior to every horse in the field and in the world that he has, in fact, ALREADY won the World Cup by tomorrow morning.

I obviously think that your winner will come from either DC or Invasor, but Vermilion looks the part to snag a piece too the more I look at it.

I think this love for Premium Tap in here is misplaced. How he beats these I don't know. He's an underlaid price anyway.
