But that's not what you are saying when you condemn someone for their mistakes...I agree that she's no more special than the next person but that isn't my point...she was a person and we shouldn't belittle her. The fact that the media chooses to linger on her situation has nothing to do with my point! I find it ironic that I speak of compassion and people jump in with all this rhetoric...I never said she was better than anyone, simply the same! You speak of being responsible for your behavior and I agree...what the media says about her and what others say isn't your issue...only what you say! So enough with the red herring argument here...it is about the very thing you said you believe...personal responsibility! What she did with her life, how others enjoy condemning her, the whole circus...at the end of the day, it's only what I say that I am responsible for...same with each of us! |

Not feeling sorry for someone has nothing to do with compassion? That's what compassion is! You spent a paragraph judging her and that's not for you to do! Compassion isn't something you feel for someone because they "earn" it, it's something you feel for someone cause they need it!!!! |

Hey Somer,
Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Was wondering if you received my email? |

And that's your choice to make....your responsibility! |

Did she make mistakes? Yes she did and some dosey of mistakes. Our job is not to judge her by those mistakes. I for one feel sorry for her. Call me crazy if you must, but I think she was a decent human being. Yes, she was into drugs, but that is a mistake that she had to deal with the consequences of. But then again how many of us have had to handle the death of a child? Do we know what she was going through?
Yes, she was on drugs before her son died. SHe has made MANY mistakes in her life. But most of her mistakes hurt herself and not others. Did she hurt others, maybe but I don't know. I just know that I for one am not going to condemn someone for making mistakes. So what if she slept with a lot of men. DON'T MOST MEN TRY TO SLEEP WITH EVERY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN? Double standard in this country. |

Amen...a woman sleeps with a different man every week and she's a slut, a man sleeps with a different woman every day and he's a stud! But then, if folks stay busy pointing out the shortcomings of others, they can ignore theirs! |

MY MAMA ALWAYS TOLD ME TO TREAT OTHERS THE WAY I WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED. Would you want to be bad mouthed after your death? I just think we should have some compassion in that respect. No need to badmouth the dead. |
