I think he can be in the right situation. He is a spot up shooter, there are NBA offenses that can accomidate that type of player. But defense is another matter entirely.
TB really needs to understand... Example, Brent Barry, who has spent a whole lot of time in the NBA but is far from a superstar, is a 3 point specialist. This guy has a fairly ugly looking shot but he gets it off very quickly. Two weeks ago in a Spurs practice he made 96 out of 100 3's unguarded while moving around the 3 point arc. So pretty shots are nice. But I am relatively sure Redick has never done this at the pro line. And Barry is faster and a much better jumper, passer, and defender than Redick even at his advanced age. He was also a slam dunk champion. The guys in the NBA are flat out incredibly gifted athletes and players. The college guys are incredibly gifted players. The athletic part does not necessarily come along. If you dont have a bit of both, its really hard. Oden is being touted as a monster draft choice because he clearly has both. Its just a matter if it can translate over and I personally think it will.
There are plenty of tricks the AND ONE kids can do and some of them are very gifted athletes, but if they ever played in a real game with real defense and real refs... it would be genocide.
The same goes for some college guys. They may be very good players, but just not athletic enough.
Redick really is going to have to find the right team.
