Seth is a damn good rider. But every year Bell beats him in the standings. They both get the best mounts CBY has to offer though

disappearingdan_akaplaya 01-10-2007 10:45 PM

seth's talented enough to ride anywhere in the country in my opinion. who knows he may show up@oaklawn, robertson shipped everything outta chicago a few weeks back so hed have plenty for seth to ride down there. next to earlie lol nobody hits a horse like seth. yeah brian a couple years ago when he rode the fall meet here at tha thorne he tore it up. won alotta his races here not from being on the best horse, he simply outrode the other jocks here and outsmarted them

Seth did pretty well in Md. for the short time he was there when
he was an apprentice jockey. Did he start at Turf Paradise?

pmayjr 01-11-2007 01:10 AM

Seth is damn good, it helps to have Mac and Hugh Robertson's horses at your disposal as well. I give him credit though, because he was winnin beofre those trainers showed at at CBY 3 years ago and strated winning everything.

Bell has still been able to hang though... I hope the truth exonorates him. Because I'd hate to have any suspicion regarding any of the numerous riding titles he's won during the last few years at CBY

Rumor I heard today is Bell is NOT a part of the GLD/DEL fiasco.Supposedly,a trainer at Tampa complained about him and said Bell held his horse back and didn't ride him to the finish. Not the truth,Just a rumor I caught today.

Left Bank 01-31-2007 04:56 PM

Some guy on another board is claiming that there is a Tampa jock in jail as of today.Anyone hear this yet?All I have seen today is an interview with D Bell in TTimes about the goon squad grilling him.

pmayjr 01-31-2007 05:21 PM

I hope D. Bell is cleared. He's a household name at CBY in the summer.

disappearingdan_akaplaya 01-31-2007 09:09 PM

word had it TD was gonna try and ride here this spring. several years ago he said after winning a stake at sportsmans on a horse named secret romeo he would probaly come to chicago in the near future and never did. well if what i hear on the backstretch is correct they will not allow houghton to ride here in chicago until this thing is resolved, but well see since the carey's(owners of hawthorne) allowed rene to ride a horse here on the final day of the meet, jan 1

saucon17 02-14-2007 09:29 PM

Totally agree with Hawthorne allowing them to ride.

I haven't heard as many of the rumors as others, however, sometimes these things just kind of die off. It might have been a lot of bark and no bite. I've also seen it go the other way and it gets bigger and bigger. Who knows.

Disappearing Playa-

I heard the same thing regarding Houghton. He, Bell and Douglas have all been cleared to ride at Hawthorne. Of course Rene has been cleared to ride at GP so I assume he'll stay down there until that meet is over.

Playa, bet you Houghton shows up at Arlington now that GLD is closing, angle is gone now of him sneaking in for a ride.....

Coach Pants 02-15-2007 09:24 PM

Going to be an interesting meet with Bell and Houghton in the mix. I expect Bell will bring home some prices early on until the public catches on.

He rides the front well which will do well at Hawthorne until about Mid/late March and Illinois Derby Day
