I loved the old Gulfstream. I mean, it wasn't the greatest place, but I spent hundreds of days there, and knew all the good spots. I could have forgiven him if he built a racetrack, but a cement casino/mall that happens to have a racetrack is not for me, and I resent it.

I think Frank is doing the bare minimum to be able to have slots and couldn't care less about customers to the racetrack. |

Stornach's original plan was to sell Gulfstream (high rent district) and race at Palm Meadows. I truely beleive this was his plan, but he got shut out by Palm Beach County, mainly PBKC (Dan Rooney). |

I don't have a problem with modernizing facilities and updating plants but what Stronach did at Gulfstream was put in a racing surface and then build a plant to discourage people from attending. It's uncomfortable and unenjoyable for a day at the races. Hell, he even took away the third floor dining room this year and primarily designated it for slots players. It's a casino and it's not for me. If I go to South Florida I will go to the beach.

I sincerely hope you have a great time and completely disagree with my assessment....and that goes for anyone that attends Gulfstream. My misery needs no company. |
