BTW is there, therefore I would think he would have a better pipeline on whats shaking with this.
If he says perhaps we dont have the story, then I would wager heavily that we don't.
A lot of what goes down at the racetrack, most of it as a matter of fact, is never printed.

HUH--I was just asking if that is how the saying goes. I dont really care if there is more to the story or not. I just wanted to know if that was the saying or not.

Gatewoods' a good kid. Been a hotwalker/gopher in kiarans barn for awhile now. He has no past experience of being an agent but taking a jocks book riding first call for one of the leading barns in Ny, he couldnt ask for a better shot at getting his feet wet at a new profession. BTW was right about Jara. His riding other than his big moments on Invasor and Jazil was average at best year round.

BTW is correct. gatewood was actually hustling and doing a lot of the work from midsummer on under Randy for Jara; i.e. getting him good mounts in barns outside of Kiarans w/ Mott, Tom Bush, etc.....Prior to that his only real consistent good mounts were with Kiaran, who looked out for him.

remember the line from the godfather...it's business, not personal.
randy has been thru a lot for sure, but it's business. he knows that as well as anyone. jara will one day learn that lesson as well.
it's not always guys in black hats and guys with white hats. lots of shades of grey hats as well.

Wrong....it's not a good guy/bad guy story.

Anyway, this is horseracing, no good guys and plenty of bad guys!

I realized that after I was smart enough to decipher your post.

Gatewood is a good guy and seems to have a lot of passion for the industry, so I hope he does well and I was suprised to see his name in that Bloodhorse article.

Danzig 11-28-2006 06:30 PM

just read the article...jara is staying where he needs to stay, randy is going back home. nothing sinister here.
