I love The Black Stallion, used to be near the top of my list but unforturnately I had to move it down a little in the order to make up for later additions. Its still in my top 15 though.

The first hour or so on the island when its just the boy and the horse and no dialogue are stunningly beautiful and to me one of the most enjoyable sequences I've ever seen on film.

The racing part is a little hokey but even so I get chills watching it every time.

Watch the movie again and it will move up on your list. :)

Reading these lists, one thing I find interesting is that you can look at someone else's list and see where they picked one or two of the same movies as your list, but then they have other movies that you find repulsive.

You probably find most of mine repulsive. :p

Yes Shawshank is hard to leave off...I know many people that say it's thier all time favorite. :)

Nick Kling told me about "Paths of Glory"...Dr. Stranglove is great too...Sellers should have got an Oscar!

I also forgot Shawshank which is at the top of my list.Peter Sellers was fabulous in Dr. Strangelove as well as George C. Scott.A young James Earl Jones was in it too.

blazing saddles is AWESOME. but then, anything by mel brooks is just that. an amazing guy, very talented. if comedy is as hard as they say to pull off, than i would nominate him as the all-time best at putting together top notch movies.
adore blazing saddles, as well as history of the world part 1. high anxiety and young frankenstein (that's frahnkentsteen) are so good.

nothing, nothing in the world like a good comedy.

top movies...20 years ago i'd have said gone with the wind. no more. seems the original soap opera to me. the book is so much better. but i'm a book nut, not a movie nut.

godfather 1 is incredible.
godfather 2 is a masterpiece.
godfather 3 proves the bounce theory is valid.

no way i can put together a proper top 10 list, a waste for me to try, much like naming good t.v. shows. i don't really watch anymore.

That's funny but actually I think it was the layoff that was the problem. It was The Godfathers first start in more than 20 years. i think he needed the movie. :D

thankfully the series isn't judged based on its last start. i think many sleep better at night pretending it never happened.
