Nobody out of this race is a Derby threat...again.

King Glorious 04-03-2021 05:04 PM

Could this have possibly been the worst major prep in the history of racing?

Still a long way to go to beat out the 2011 Santa Anita Derby or the 2016 Wood Memorial.

Plus the 2021 Santa Anita Derby still to be run...

Outwork would have won by 7 lengths against this field.

I realize that he was bred by your beloved Phipps (like today's runner-up Dynamic One), but you were aware that Trojan Nation was an 0-for-5 maiden when he got beat a dirty head by Outwork in that Wood, right?

A few months later, he was able to break his maiden (on the turf), adding a maiden special weight to the fine list of accomplishments (2 first condition allowance races and a Grade 3 stakes) registered by the other horses in the 2016 Wood the rest of the year...

My buddy Michael loved Dynamic one yesterday what a horrid beat, he ran a good race in the context of a slow G1.

I have never and will never consider the Jeff Ruby as a major prep.

His West Coast inferiority complex makes him hyper-sensitive to things that happen in the racing capital of the US

How does someone like the Cowboys, Celtics, Yankees and Duke?

The term “frontrunner” comes to mind

Easy. First basketball game my dad ever took me to see was Boston and Dallas. Boston won, they had Larry Bird, and it was a no brainer.

Growing up in the late 70's and early 80's, everything about Dallas was full of glamour. The TV show, the Cowboys, their cheerleaders.

Since my name is Reggie and the Yankees were winning World Series titles at the time I started watching baseball, I was a Reggie Jackson fan.

Duke because I went to high school in South Carolina and our team was pretty damn good (#7 in the country my junior year). We'd go up to Durham on weekends and play and could always get in games cause our center was first team all-American and was highly recruited. While the UNC and NC St guys were usually assholes to us, the Duke guys never were. We spent a lot of time playing with those guys that went on to the championship game in 1986 and were the foundation of what Duke is today. Johnny Dawkins is still today one of my five favorite players.

You’re not exactly refuting Andy here.

You really have to appreciate his honesty!

At least he’s not a Nets fan

I’ve been a Nets fan since they had Bernard King in 1978. Am I allowed to still be a fan?

I’ve been a knicks fan longer so I can hate the nets right. Bernard was my favorite though
