I didn't bring a word into this that I later found to be quite disgusting, nor did I claim that someone that didn't respond to this thread would provide an explanation.
If slandering people is "fun and games"..leave me out.
I started this thread because I wondered what President George W Bush meant when he said on Wednesday in his press conference, "We got a thumpin'".
You can spin my words anyway you want, but the question remains unanswered, despite the vulgarity.
And, yes, I really DO have difficulty understanding a "southern" accent, especially an affected on from a President that was born in Connecticut, and attended college in Mass.
There seems to be a bit of a problem when some people try to "put me on".

Carry on. But not "on" me.

DTS... did you say this?

"Baba,
Who gave Dubbya the blumpkin? I thought Laura was out of town and Monica was at the orthodontists. Was it Condi or Carl?
Can't wait til it hits you tube."

I thought the "Who gave Dubbya the BLUMPKIN" part was a bit extreme. This was AFTER you knew what a blumpkin was, so whatever... :p

Cajun,
I asked that question because Bababooie said that was what he was talking about. I thought he knew what it meant, as he said he was LMFAO and I had no clue.
Are you doing this to confuse me or just avoid answering my question, "What is a thumpin'?"

DTS: you're not confused,for sure,you just can't stop gloating!

Timm,
If you're implying that I'm gloatin' about the thumpin' (whatever that is), you might just be believin' that the cluckers are a roostin'. Check out that thread too.

Thumpin' sorta sounds like blumpkin, that is my point. lol Golly gee whiz, y'all.

Baba,
You took this thread in that direction cause you said "he". I just was asking for clarification as to the identity of the "he" you were referencing.
Thanks for the "almost" answer, y'all.

DTS: I was aware that you would be crowin' after election day,but some of this stuff is beneath you! You can't figure out what a thumpin is? How about the term 'getting clocked'? Getting our butts kicked? Of course,Gentlemen Presidents dont say words like that in the press....so He said we got thumped! Hope that clears it up for you. Please be forthwith in getting your ideas for Change to the New Congress...I'm sure they'll have to come up with something for the next 2yrs!

Rev,
Please, please, I beg you!
Enlighten me!
Some of the words that people have used in this thread are beyond my comprehension.
HAVE MERCY ON ME!!! OH REVOLUTION!
Please excuse my profound ignorance, oh GREAT ONE!
I'm not trying to waste your time!

Forgive me for wasting your time by asking a question, all knowing one.

Who is he?
Answer me if you can spare the time, All Knowing One.

I'd be ever so appreciative!

Downthestretch55 11-09-2006 05:25 PM

Timm,
My ideas for the next two years?
Is that what you're asking from someone whose "patriotism" was questioned for not buying into the lies? The "terrorist sympathizer" that I am?
The "cut and runner"?

Is this your question?

"Please be forthwith in getting your ideas for Change to the New Congress...I'm sure they'll have to come up with something for the next 2yrs!"

I'm pretty sure lots will come up within the next two years.
I hope it benefits ALL citizens of the USA.

That said, if it was up to me and I was issuing the subpoenas, it would start with the impeachment proceedings and also the war crime trials.
Plenty of hearings will be coming.
Stay tuned. Some have waited for six years.
Now that Rummy is a private citizen, he's going to be held accountable.
Good luck!
Dubbya and Cheney....we'll find out sooner than later.
It shouldn't take two years at all.
Is that a "thumpin'?" Or ain't that somethin'?
Let the people's newly elected representatives speak. They'll say "somethin'," as we've all had more than enough of the "thumpin'!"
Roosting chicken-hawks and all.

timmgirvan 11-09-2006 05:35 PM

DTS: I've never questioned your patriotism or you being a terrorist sympathiser....If I did....I wouldn't even speak to you. Democrats have a chance to move this country forward NOW....it will be a hollow victory if all they accomplish is the shredding of Rumsfeld and hammer the Adminisration! Of course..that would mean Democrats would take the 'high road'....I'm not sure they have that map.

Timm,
I think you misread me.
I didn't say that you accused me of being a terrorist sympathizer, and you also didn't question my patriotism.
If you don't know who did, that just got himself handed a "thumpin'" by the majority of those that participated in our democratic process, well, my guess is that I can't explain it further.
Second guessing the Democrats about having a map to a high road, on that one, I can't predict. We've already seen more than enough of the "low road".

Pay-back's a biatch, dontcha know?

amazing, simply amazing.
so much for intelligent discussion, when people are reduced to criticizing a persons accent. how someone speaks has nothing to do with their intelligence, or lack thereof.

Danzig, really how smart is this guy? He didn't even think that his party was going to lose the house(much less the Senate.)

I agree Deb....I happen to have a bit of an accent and I know I play dumb alot on here, but I like to think I have a bit more intelligence than most, even if I am from the south.

Danzig and GPK,
I did not intend to offend any southerners or the way they talk.
That said, the current president that pretends to speak like one is not.
Here's his biography. Pay attention to where he was born and where he was educated.
Proof: http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/George_W._Bush

My view is that his "affected accent" is as phony as his "leadership".

btw..."Real" Southern accents, though tough for me to comprehend at times, sound smooth as "gravy on grits".

It could be due to pre-senile dementia..
