Vet said PI had dislocated an ankle without any breaking of the skin. Have to see how much soft tissue damage there is.

Afraid he said there WAS breaking of the skin . Pray .

MLC 11-04-2006 03:10 PM

I hope that I heard incorrectly, but I thought he said the skin was broken.

Balletto 11-04-2006 03:10 PM

I must have misheard... I thought he said with some breaking of the skin which is why there's reason for concern of immediate infection.

sumitas 11-04-2006 03:10 PM

it sounds very bad for her...the dirt surface claims more victims....i do believe the best mare was Asi Siempre.

Balletto 11-04-2006 03:11 PM

Asi Siempre was surprising. Its a horrible situation but Balletto has been pushed to third and Asi Siempre pushed back to 4th.

He used the words 'very serious' and he did say the skin was broken and the ankle dislocated. Doesnt look very good at all...

Pedigree Ann 11-04-2006 03:15 PM

My hearing must have been bad.

sumitas 11-04-2006 03:15 PM

Asi Siempre was way good enough to win but had a wall in front. yes, there was interference but i don't blame the jock for trying to make room there. awful luck for Asi Siempre.

Balletto 11-04-2006 03:17 PM

i'm very sorry for all...let's get the polytrack in all around for the safety of the horses and jocks.

Balletto 11-04-2006 03:33 PM

Wow, Fleet Indian's injury is now considered "critical"... much worse than the original prognosis.

1st_Saturday_in_May 11-04-2006 03:36 PM

Yeah thank God Santos got her pulled up and she didnt go down. Sounds like she'll be okay...

:(

saucon17 11-04-2006 03:45 PM

That's Terrible news I hope she pulls through. Been fan of her's since i saw her inperson at Philly Park in December. Was at the two races at Delaware two watch her live. She was big and magnificent looking filly. Hopefully she will recover to become a succesfull broodmare. She was supposed sold at Keeneland early next week.

Downthestretch55 11-04-2006 03:59 PM

Fleet Indian's injuries are soft tissue...no fractures.
Suspensory tendon.
I think she'll be ok.
Golly, I love this NY bred.
Make nice babies FI.

saucon17 11-04-2006 04:05 PM

That's Great News. Will be looking forward
to her babies run in the future
