I'm afraid it's none of the above Don. I honed my math skills during an extended misspent childhood, competing as a navigator in sports car road rallies, doing the time-speed-distance calculations.

No, in road rallies you drive around the back roads trying to follow a specific course by using sometimes tricky directions, all the while maintaining a required set of average speeds. The driver had to follow the course and the navigator had to figure how closely you were maintaining those average speeds. Timing was usually to the 1/100th of a minute. A great way to work up a thirst.

In my younger years I could work up a thirst just getting up in "morning" around noon. :eek:
