Holthus is a great trainer Zieg, he really is. Betting him at Oaklawn is like an ATM machine. Its just that it was pretty obvious that an attempt to control his rankness had to be made, and he wasn't doing it.

Thats an AWESOME pic of the dog!!! Looks like something really has its attention. What did you do, show the dog the works since Pletcher had taken over the horse?

Actually maybe that was the dog's reaction when he read the bleeding heart thread. I think he had 10 doggy treats riding on the Super Derby and man was he ever pissed when the horse was rank and got caught!

Hey Oracle darling, why don't you wait until the horse runs a race before you start gloating? How are you so sure those slower works aren't because there's something wrong with the horse?? And what makes you so certain Pletcher isn't slowing that horse down artificially?? I have seen trainers do that to take the edge off of them in the AM to "teach" them to relax.

Blue Eyes my dear, my clocker is the best in the trade, ask anyone in NY about Joe P. sweetest.
If he tells me a horse is DOING OUTSTANDING then its gospel.

Oracle this horse has lots of talent, no question. How good are his chances to hit the board in the classic?

Oracle, baby, was your clocker back at the Pletcher barn before and after those works?

jpops757 10-26-2006 12:09 AM

Dosent look as if prado has anything for the Classic. Wouldnt he be a good fit to get him to relax in the race? Which one of the TBAs will Prado get?

I just printed off the sheets for the BC, if he's doing outstanding, I believe he's really sitting on an effort to hit the board. Third off layoff, trainer switch, and with a possible change in style, it looks very positive for LR.

Lawyer Ron is as Game a race horse as they come and if the new barn can get him to rate, well I think he can be in the money with alittle improve.

Antitrust32 10-26-2006 11:23 AM

I think that LR has a better chance than Flower Alley. Johnny V should take the ride on Ron...

Pre Pletcher works:
August 19th CD 5f 59:1 1/20
September 9th CD 6f 1:11 1/1
September 16th CD 5f 59:3 1/34

Post Pletcher works:
October 9th Bel 4f 48 4/41
October 16th Bel 5f 1:01:4 6/11
October 22nd Bel 5f 1:01:1 11/79

You make the call.

Well if he can relax and rate in his races I'll be impressed, horses are creatures of habit and this horse in a race will get the juices flowing again, in the mornings it's a LOT easier to get them to slow down when they're alone and they concentrate on you. I don't care if he has him doing the Texas Twostep and whistlin Dixie in the morning, it's a different scenario in the actual race. Intercontinental was not NEARLY the head case she was in the mornings as she was in her races.

They are one of my favorite dogs, I had a Corgie for 14 years. I swear she saved me from a serious accident, I was blanketing a 3 year old stallion and unexpectedly he fired and kicked me square on the knee, I went down and could not bend my leg, than the colt whirled around and charged me, my little Corgie was outside the stall and charged in grabbing at his face, she actually tore the colts upper lip pretty badly but the distraction enabled me to crawl under the stall guard, she was such a great dog, we called her the Warden because if horses banged their stall doors she would run up and bite at them! LOL!!! I miss her so much to this day and haven't been able to bring myself to get another one....... yet.

Yeah Prado's on Premium Tap. I heard Julien Leparoux was free. Is anybody slightly disturbed that Jamie Spencer will be on David Junior? Whenever I see him I have to cross my fingers that nobody gets interfered with.
