Did they test the horse too? Grapevine said they wanted to rate him and PZ is known to be a crazy speed baller, so maybe he smoked in his vicinity to calm him down.

I wonder if NYRA would have reacted the same way if Lynch was saddling a horse that was going for the triple crown.

Maybe they should be more concerned with the lack of consistency of their stewards or maybe look more closely at trainers that are possibly cheating as opposed to the nonsense they got on Lynch.

Just when you thought you've seen it all, something else happens that just makes you shake your head.

This has nothing to do with NYRA. These are the actions of the New York State Gaming Commission.

I really do not understand what this has to do with the horse. Drug testing is done for a reason and all the players know the rules, so a person takes the risk when he uses drugs while in a position when you are eligible for testing...but what the hell does the horse have to do with it. FFS!!!

Why can't the horse be passed to an assistant. They allow it when trainer napped for PED's. I am from banning a trainers horses under that scenario but this is the theater of the absurd..

He had to surrender his license and horse can't run in name of trainer without a current license.

Private Zone was already entered, so he can't run. If entry had been yesterday, he'd have been entered under someone else's name. Lynch's Royal Squeeze runs in the Jaipur Saturday under Cannizzo's name for instance.

Thanks for clarifying Steve.

After reading up a bit and having a discussion with a friend of mine, the relationship between the NYSGC & NYRA is a bit clearer to me. Unfortunately I think a large segment of the betting population doesnt realize the difference between the two. Hence NYRA taking a beating on the social sights once again. It seems like its the state who lobs the grenades and NYRA's the one who take the collateral damage.

One could only hope that someday they will wake up in Albany.

Geez, this is absurd.

If the guy regularly uses the staircases in the Aqueduct grandstand he would come up positive for weed whether he smokes or not.

Keeping it 100. When there are rules in play and morons in charge you have to be cautious. Stephen A. knows.

I'll pop an extra "cookie" in his honor this weekend.

Jesus.
