I wish I had the energy to go back and research how many writers who are seemingly aghast at NYRA actually trying to make a profit are among those who chastised them when they were not making a profit year in and year out.

Look NYRA is a big fat easy target for writer and more damaging politicians who simple view racing as an opportunity to grab money for MORE IMPORTANT VOTER FRIENDLY PROJECTS. Assuming you are a politician (a horrible thought) is there a more amenable position then lets take money from those degenerate gamblers and super rich snobs and give it to your constituents? Its like shooting fish in a barrel and its never going to change.

The writers are deplorable the politicians are just well politicians. Look what my boy Christie did to NJ racing he came to MP waved a bunch of flags spoke a bunch of crap and tossed NJ racing down the tubes.
