Well Dala.. His matinees are one thing: you may want to wait for the evening performances before declaring yourself a fan.. ;)

Depends how you want to take it. I think it would be a good thing if it led to enough demand where graded stakes struggling to maintain their identity stretched out to 12 furlongs and actually drew a strong field.

That aint happening.

Personally I think people are getting WAY ahead of themselves with polytrack.

Pretty sad isn't it? We could all sit here and post all day about the changes that need to be made, but does it all fall on deaf ears of the powers to be? I guess when one has money to make at the moment they don't feel a need to look ahead?

And if I said five months ago that the Perryville would have drawn that quality of a field on polytrack you probably would have told me it aint happening either.

Well, as long as they continue to just ignore the real problem, performance enhancing drugs, what the hell is the difference what they do.

Honestly, I am getting to the point where I don't blame people for cheating, you can't be competitive if you don't and the powers that be basically endorse it with some of the stallions that fetch big money.

The Perryville got the field it did for a far different reason than Polytrack.....and his name is Discreet Cat.

Don't think for one instant that Latent Heat, Praying for Cash and, at least, High Finance would have run in the Grade 3 Perryville, and not the Grade 2 Jerome ( at their home track ), if Discreet Cat wasn't running.

Hes so easy to bait with that hairtrigger temper.
One time I told him that someone had made fun of him as a joke, just to get his blood pressure up. before I could tell him I was only kidding, he had posted to the guy(who had absolutely no idea why he was saying this!!LOL!!) that he was gonna find him and tear him apart.

I agree, I'm just saying to give a blanket statement like 'it aint happening' is tough to do when we don't know what the future holds. For all we know performance on the polytrack could prove to correlate to endurance in the sire and the demand for 12 furlong races to prove that endurance will increase.

So, they are going to dramatically alter the breed to suit this new surface?

Good luck.

I say they just paint it green and call it what it is.
