Detroits punter just did them no favors. And wtf is up with picking up that interference flag?!

This officiating has become farcical.

Rupert Pupkin 01-04-2015 11:17 PM

The lines are up for next week:

Carolina at Seattle -10 1/2
Baltimore at New England -7

Dallas at Green Bay -6 1/2
Indianapolis at Denver -7

I was rootin' for the Cowboys but that was a piss poor call...especially for a plyoff game and no decent explanation either. That game itself seemed to have bad officiating overall.

Ref's explanation of the non-call on defensive pass interference

Lots of bad calls in that game. This one was magnified as they changed the call. If they started out no interference in the first place no one would care. Officiating is at an all time low in both college and the pros. Look at Ohio state. They stole a game off Penn State off some real bad calls now they are in championship game. I guess we need to get used to it as part of the game. Detroit still had game under control but couldn't close.

worse call than the blown interference call !

according to tony dungy, des bryant runs on field to argue minus helmet,an automatic 15 penalty. hope th dallas cowboys are humiliated in their next game.

They aren't calling that in a playoff game

Why should they, they weren't calling offensive holding on the Cowboys final drive either.

declansharbor 01-05-2015 01:34 PM

Mark it down as a first for me, when a penalty flag is tossed and the penalty is already announced, only to have it rescinded. Way too many outcomes of games are being determined by dreadful officiating. Some of these late calls are beyond maddening, it's as if you'll prompt a ref to toss the flag if you b!tch at him loud & long enough. The picking up of the flag takes the cake though.

Then again, what do I know?! I once thought that a punter had a lot to do with field position, which has a lot to do with winning and losing football games.

Must be cousins of the BC stewards, who let Bayern wipe out 6 horses in the Classic, with no foul. These homer calls show the home field / track advantage

Dufner on golf and Cowboys game. Jasin tweets ?

Pure comedy. The lineman was in the process of tackling the pass rusher as Romo releases the ball - they couldn't even edit out of the replay as it was in the frame from virtually every angle.

Further proof that the NFL was going to get their precious Green Bay vs. Dallas matchup by hook or by crook.

Pants II 01-05-2015 04:23 PM

It's a shame because imo they didn't need to help the Cowboys.

Detroit was going to find a way to lose. Let it happen naturally.

Officiating has been bad for soccer as well.

A lot of games are coming down to a vegas line with absurd calls deciding the outcome.

I'm sure it's all just a coincidence and on the level though...our authorities are on top of corruption.

some of the calls and non calls all season had me wondering why everyone was in such a hurry to get these guys a new contract last year.
and then espn this morning, who seems to me at this point to be just an nfl cheerleader....just unreal.

all that aside tho, detroit didn't do jack the second half. i'm not surprised they lost, but that doesn't give the officials a pass-they've been truly awful.

Yeah, enough of the hand-wringing about the picked-up flag. The Lions scored 14 points before you could blink and only got 6 the rest of the way. They deserved to lose.

Couldn't agree more. Are you going on Tampa trip?

Surprised this hasn't been brought up in the discussion:
