I saw on another board that someone wished "Sightseek" a Happy Birthday..

Thanks! :)

I wanted to update everyone on my medical journey as well. I spent the last week out-patient at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center doing tests to find where I am leaking csf fluid. They were unable to find the exact location of my leak, but found "suspicious areas" along my thoracic spine. They administered an epidural blood patch on Friday. The idea being that the blood fills the epidural space and hopefully clots over the leak or stimulates the tissue to heal, but really, while the doctors at Cedars are the most published on this condition, they are the first to admit that they don't know exactly how it works. Some people heal with one "patch", others with several and my doctor said about 10% require surgery. We'll see how I feel over the next few days.

I wanted to let you all know since so many of you have reached out to help me out, not only financially, but emotionally. It has been difficult, but you all have kept me strong.

Also, a note of caution for anyone else who may be going through there own 'rare' medical issues, or have a family member who is, if you're dealing with a medical center who is unsure of your condition, find one who is. I went through a lot of pain and wasted time up to this point with the wrong doctors.

We will all keep praying and pulling really hard for you Nicole. Sorry you have been through all you have and am hoping that you will be seeing an end to all the pain and all the hardships you've had to endure. You seem like a really a strong person and I know your going to be back to your normal healthy self in no time.

Thanks for the update, pretty lady, and for the reminder that we all must remember to be our own health advocates. Fingers crossed you're a one-patch case!
