Trotting out a rookie who started the year in AA to save your season spoke volumes about their pitching staff as well. IMO if they played even one remotely competitive team down the stretch the result could have been different, but they had no chance last night.

Regardless on who they played, they still played almost flawless baseball down the stretch to make the post season.
They just got beat by a better and more talented team last night.

Pirates need the Lumber Company back, facing Lance Lynn today should be an easier task than the Wainright match up yesterday. Tough spot for the rookie Cole but he's been big pretty much all year for the Pirates. Need to get this one and get back to PNC for the next two.

First pitch today at 1:07 ET

It's up to Ground Chuck if we're getting it done in front of the home crowd.

Let's Go Bucs!

I'm going tomorrow. The weather looks really bad, wouldn't be shocked if they played it Tuesday.

Gotta tip your cap to the Cards rookie pitcher Michael Wacha. Stepped up in a tough spot and came up huge. Marte and Walker on the other hand...better wake up in a hurry. Hitting (if you want to call it that) a combined 1 for 31 in the series at the top of the order.

Cardinals always seem to come out on top in these big games...hoping for the Bucs.
