How would you react this November 6, when, as an American citizen, you walk into your polling place, you say hello to the neighbors you know that are working the polls (they all know who you are), they find your name in the voter registration log, and they tell you, sorry, your driver's license isn't enough to allow you to vote, and you cannot.

How will you feel, and what will be your reaction?

My reaction is that not one eligible American citizen should be prevented from voting by Jim Crow laws.

Edit: here is an interactive map from The Lawyer's Committee For Civil Rights Under Law, so you can check if you need to do something different to be able to vote this fall:

http://www.lawyerscommittee.org/page?id=0042

Plus, google your states election laws to double check.

Treason would be if the government were following the laws of this country as opposed to rewriting them to suit whatever whimsy comes there way.

How should anyone feel if there vote is negated due to even one voter who isn't supposed to be involved?
I would like my vote to count.

There are only a few cases of voter fraud in the past 30 years of this country. There are not millions of illegal voters voting. There are not even 10's of illegals voting. George Bush couldn't find it, and looked for 5 years. We have the occasional felon voting that should not.

Why should one legal voter lose their vote for this? NEVER should a legal voter be denied this essential, basic right!

If you want your vote to count, then I suggest that you don't support a political party that is taking the voting rights away from 5 million legal, voting American citizens via Jim Crow laws and poll taxes purposely implemented to keep non-Republican voters from the polls and from casting votes.

Those folks should be capable of proving they are eligible based on the myriad of things that require ID in this country and will therefore have no problems when it comes down to it.
If even one person votes illegally then my vote no longer counts. One is too many.

But if you are not allowed to vote in the first place, because the ID you've used to vote for years is now suddenly deemed "not good enough proof of who you are", you won't even have to worry about it.

That's the point. That currently allowable methods of Voter ID, already in use, are being eliminated.

These laws have nothing to do with preventing illegals or non-citizens from voting. They only negatively affect current, legal, American citizen voters.

5 million American citizens, who have voted for years, being denied the right to vote. It's abhorrent.
