Is this the new thing? Horse's names in bold? If so, I would hope we could at least get a tidbit about sires immediately following the bold. You're slipping, block.

ya thats right, i just type the horses names in bold for no reason. can someone sell slot a clue.

Gander 09-19-2006 10:53 AM

I like the horse's name in bold. Makes it easy to read. I think he was being a little sarcastic, I would just ignore him.

Of course I was being sarcastic. I just miss the Borrego son of El Prado talk from the old ESPN days.

Don't forget Like Now, son of Jules. I loved it when he did that. :D

Gander 09-19-2006 10:59 AM

I like that as well. It is better reading. Of course he cant do that for every horse, but for the ones he can, its a nice way to write.

I think that he has it in him too, but I think that he will run his best race in his 3rd start back off of the layoff (OK, so maybe I want him to run his best race in his 3rd start back because you know what day that will be!)

Yeah, his Risen Star victory in January was awesome. When he won it like that, I was like D A M N...His race before that one was awesome too, but the Risen Star definitely made me a believer. I really like the colt.

BTW, did I miss a serious meltdown on the ESPN board somewhere?

Oh lord, here we go. By the way, I rather enjoy watching Bright One, son of Dance Brightly run. What do you think? :p

Gander 09-19-2006 11:05 AM

Yes, everyday on there. Today somebody said Oracle could crap diamonds from coal nuggets within 2 weeks. That was actulaly quite comical. LOL!

Well shiat, if he can do that, he needs to share the wealth! Geesh!

its just as important to remenber who the SIRE is, as well as the who current sires RUNNER is. the runner will go the shed in two years, the sire will continue on and make similar runners,in general, thus making your capping job easier if you remember the sires as the years go by.

hopefully by now you realize that EL PRADO, by The CHEF,
SADLERS WELLS, is an important sire. and furhter, PEACE RULES,who seemed to always hit the board, another prominent son of JULES, will keep this sires name in your memory.

thats what the game is missing today, horses you can predict with CERTAINTY, that they will be in the tri. makes it difficult.

I agree, Paul. I liked it when you did that before. Peace Rules will hopefully carry on his sire's line.

I hadn't been there in a while, and gander's earlier post made me think I missed something, so I went looking. I gathered from what I've read that somer officially ceded control of the place to block, then several coups were held against blocky for leadership of the ESPN Horse Racing boards. Is that an accurate assessment?

I was looking foreward to the Bright One running in the Travers, I thought he could light it up just like
STRONG HOPE did when he turned back EMPIRE MAKER
in the late summer 2003, but apparently he was hurt.

SHARP HUMOR gave BARABARO everything he could handle in florida,
he and Bright One, are two who i look to make some money on in wagering, later in the year.

I'll be in Vegas this weekend, and I'm looking forward to perhaps playing the Super Derby. My form will surely be worn out by Saturday mid-day. The Matro, Futurity, and Noble Damsel look to be nice races at Belmont, and who knows what future star we can expect from the Bertram Bongard on Sunday.

It's Tuesday, dude. Not a whole lot to talk about regarding horses today.

MLC 09-19-2006 05:47 PM

The ESPN board is terrible. It takes too much time to find some credible or intelligent statement.
For the Super Derby, Lawyer Ron of course.
