Hud,

We've been told both will run, even if the race comes off.

Rain has been pelting NYC and they will almost certainly be off Wednesday. We'll see about Pal. Gary may opt to SCR and look for another shot at turf before the racing office packs it in for the year. Can always come back on the dry main track at a sprint distance. Mott almost never come out of off turf races, but we'll wait for his decision too..

Kasept 11-23-2011 07:12 AM

MY PAL OF PALS a scratch. Gary feels the main track is too messy and there remains a decent chance that there will be a little more turf racing next week. If we're going to run PAL on the main, let's do it on a fast, dry track and at whatever distance suits (6f-1m)..

TOY CANNON will run..

believe is a good decision to scr the Pal, we KNOW from debut he doesn't care much for the muddy stuff - best of luck to the DT Toy Cannon partners, safe trips to all!

hud8118 11-23-2011 01:36 PM

opened 4-1...

and 4th choice in double...interesting!

Lava 11-23-2011 01:58 PM

boy he walked out of the gate, but looked to be making ground up late

Coup Verville 11-23-2011 02:04 PM

Yeah, looked like he was flying at the end, but that break killed him.

BigBlue 11-23-2011 02:08 PM

Slow start. I agree - looked like a decent finish. He looks great ... that we know.

A harmless debut and it's out of the way. As the guys noted above, poor start -- horse next to him was very fractious -- but got untracked late and finished with interest. Came back good. More tomorrow..

freddymo 11-24-2011 09:12 AM

We might be looking back at this race as a KEY race. That was a salty group for November

BigBlue 11-29-2011 11:06 PM

Any update on how the Cannon is doing after last week's race?

Coup Verville 12-21-2011 04:26 PM

Any word on how TC's doing? I noticed he hasn't worked since the race.

Kasept 12-21-2011 06:35 PM

He's doing great. Is in Florida at the farm Paul Pompa uses and was gelded last week. Paul's vet/advisor thinks he will benefit from it tremendously. Will be staying on the farm into January before joining Mott's string at Payson Park to get ready for turf action in the spring in New York.

BigBlue 02-07-2012 04:12 PM

Anybody know how soon workouts could resume for Toy Cannon after gelding? I've been watching but haven't seen anything yet. Wasn't sure to expect weeks or months.

I was back to work on Monday after being gelded.
