The extended weather outlook for this weekend in 2013 calls for rain, wind, and cold in the New York City area. 2014 looks OK, but Louisville's outlook is better for one week later. So I don't think it makes sense to award it to Belmont, when you also consider the fact that handle will almost certainly be lower and none of the dirt races start in front of the grandstand.

False. At least five of my 1,500+ posts have been solid.

so, if the weather was great, one would have to conclude that you'd still have an issue with it being at belmont. handle is a red herring, as it seems no track has ky-like numbers. if you're anti-ny, just say so instead of going on about the weather. ny certainly doesn't have a monopoly on bad weather. it's a chance you take when you choose that time of year for races. |

I don't necessarily think the BC would be moved-up a week just to go to Belmont. That extra week really helps tracks space-out the races in Sep/Oct, and one week is not the difference between 80 and 70 degrees.

It is currenlty mid-50's, Sunny and absolutely gorgeous weather in NY with the same forecast for tomorrow. Once again, another useless Justin Dew thread. At least he is consistent.
