I had a comic book as a little girl that had a 24-page insert inside it of a mini-comic starring Superman. I remember the plot was that he encountered some kind of Kryptonite that frazzled his brain so he couldn't make calculations like how fast to fly, etc. So two little schoolkids got on their TRS-80 and did the calculations for him so he could go save out-of-control trains or whatever the catastrophes that required mathematical calculations were.

Of course, it was really just a 24-page advertisement for the TRS-80, but I remember it better than I do the comic book it came with.

Riot was probably thinking of the Commodore 64, which is the other one I remember from around that time, give or take.

LOL - that's it, thanks! Wasn't all that long ago in years, but eons in tech time.

Very little of what Jobs did, or came up with, was original or innovative. He copied others ideas and did a much better job of packaging and marketing those ideas.

He was ruthless and cared naught for whom or whatever he hurt.
Yes, Jobs sucked, and it's good of you to point that out in his obituary!

Do you really think there would be an Apple without Wall Street?

There was an Apple without Wall Street.

You've conflated selling ownership in a corporation (what Wall Street used to do) with gambling (which is what Wall Street does now).

In reality, you're just repeating the mainstream media's talking points about the protests.

Get back to me on the details of credit default swaps and what that had to do with getting money into the hands of Apple.

The Koch brothers are doing quite well for themselves and their company is entirely privately owned.

Banging one's head against a wall is a better use of time than arguing against a dolt like you.

I suppose that the chants protesting against corporate greed are against the brokers, not the Fortune 500 corporations, you know some of the same ones who make the devices the protesters use to orgainize their protests. I will reiterate, these protesters don't even know what they are protesting against, but of course, you think you know what it is about because you know everything.

I never said the protests made sense because they don't. Sure there was an Apple without Wall Street, that was in Steve Jobs' garage. The one that sells macs, iphones, ipads and ipods came about with Wall Street.

Oh, as far as highjacking a thread, it is again another irony that the D.B. Cooper of highjacking threads would direct that comment at another.

No, I am stating the truth regarding these stupid protests which actually disrupt the lives of those of us in New York who work hard for our money, plain and simple.

Coach Pants 10-07-2011 07:03 PM

That money you're working hard for is worthless.

The ad hominem scurry-under-a-rock defense for those of the "haven't a clue" tribe ;)

It must be infuriating to royalty when the peasants forget their place.

Coach Pants 10-07-2011 07:27 PM

Those stupid kids need to stop smoking pot and listening to that headbanger music and get a jerb.

Oh, I get the logic. If you state that you think the Wall Street protesters are morons who disrupt a city when they don't even know what they are protesting against, you must be an elitist who thinks the poor should rot in hell! Great logic! Let them eat cake!

Yes, let's not make assumptions. Those who protest without a clue as to what they are protesting or a permit and illegally disrupt the lives of others must be "dirty." It is not like you ever twist the words of others. You are not a hypocrite, always the victim!

Please - go try to learn just a little something about Occupy Wall Street, and perhaps also the "liberal agenda", before you embarrass yourself further via your ignorant statements.

And perhaps even learn about "permits" and "legally", too, before you throw out more of your nonsensical accusations.

And, you might wanna see somebody about that, "when I get angry with other people, I bring up sex" thing. Creepy weird.

Just the kind of nonsensical deflected response I expected from you. If I wanted to embarrass myself I would support Obama and his failing policies like you do.

Oh, it is not weird, I was just wondering what makes you such an angry bitch. You might want to do something about that, it is not appealing. What is weird, but highly predicable, is your penchant to immediately attack anything I say on this forum without regard to merit.

You are entertaining though, even if it is people like you who are hell bent on destroying this country with your dimwit politics. Why don't you join the protest, you will be right at home.
