Enough of the stuff about how guys need to hold back what they want to say because they need to maintain some high standard. It is ironic, however, that you think it would be better if Johnny punched him. Professionalism over civility, eh? |

As far as detecting sarcasm, you didn't write what I referenced in a sarcastic tone. |

You think that's a "soap box", good for you. |
I think if you watch the head on, what Velazquez is suggesting is certainly plausible.
Unless you're a racing fan, you probably have no idea about all of this, so the fake outrage over protecting the sport is just that....fake. |

If he isn't happy with what happens there, then he can bitch and moan publicly. No, that's not "fake". |

You think it's "lunacy" to me to call him unprofessional for publicly accusing another jock of purposely endangering the lives of the jocks and horses, you stick with that :tro: |

The only people who are even aware of this are racing fans. It's not like the talk at the water coolers in offices across America was what Velazquez said. As racing fans we see worse than this all the time. I'm glad he said something. |

I'm going to say something that's not witty but give myself a trophy smiley. :tro:

Who is sweeping it under the rug? Not me. He's meeting with the stewards Wednesday. Yeah, he should have kept his mouth shut before that. |

People, if they even hear about this, aren't going to change their mind about the sport because of this. And it's not like we're going to lose any potential new fans or bettors because of it. On the flip side, Hollywood Park let a horse run and eventually win a race the other day that he wasn't eligible for. That thread has gotten zero responses. I'd say something like that is far worse towards the public perception of the sport than something like this. |

Johnny should be drug tested for that comment and all of you should as well for defending him.

JV has every right to make a public statement when he believes that someone intentionally put his, and other jocks, lives in danger in a race. And no, I don't jump to wrong conclusions, though I believe that you delivered this insult in desperation since you have nothing of substance to state in your defense. Then again, you have proven that your logic is so twisted that it is difficult for anyone to make assumptions regarding any of the utter nonsense you continuously spew on this website daily. |
