Big thing around here right now is the attempt to bring in a CASINO. Will be interesting to hear how that plays out too.

i haven't been there in a while. do they still have the auditorium (or whatever they call it) with the battlefield scenes and lincoln giving his address?

I think so. Plan to go there Thursday. Did the day one battlefield, Devil's Den and Litlle Round Top's today. Stood in the spot where Col. Chamberlin and the 20th Maine stopped Hood's rebels and saved the Union. Going to the Wheatfield, Peach Orchard and Pickett's Charge area Friday as well as the Cemetary and the auditorium. Got ran out of the park by the Rangers tonight after 10pm closing time. Having a blast!

BTW...the casino was defeated! Not going to be allowed in the Gettysburg area.

after gettysburg, maybe the battle of the wilderness?, joshua chamberlain was shot thru both hips. he was given a posthumous promotion....but, he survived the wounds! yes, he got to keep the promotion...he lived to be in his 90's. if you haven't read 'the killer angels' by schaara, as well as the other two books in that trilogy by his son, do so. esp. killer angels, an excellent book.
