These are all Todd Pletcher trained horses improving sharply 2nd off the layoff last winter.

In a lot of cases ... you'd get a blah race 1st off the layoff ... followed by a huge race 2nd off the layoff. The 3rd race off the layoff was typically also a strong one.

Most of these horses got injured or ran like the life had been sucked out of them by the end of the season. Super Saver obviously included.

R Heat Lightning followed the same pattern this year.

Munnings - his form isn't pictured above - probably fell off sharper than any of the Pletcher's last year.

He looked promising early on in the season - he was mercifully retired in the summer after running Beyers of 37 and a perfect trip 52 in the Salvator Mile.

People call Quality Road "a miler" .. he was already trailing Pleasant Prince after a mile in the BC Classic... and the jock hadn't yet even moved on PP.

The Quality Road who showed up that day wouldn't have been competitive with $15,000 claimers. Something was seriously wrong with him.

He was not alone with the issues from that barn either. Pandemic that weekend.

Everybody to run back has made the kind of improvment you expect from a healthy young colt.

It gives you an idea of what should be expected of Uncle Mo and Jaycito on Saturday. If any horse had a right to improve - it was Jaycito. He was all over the friggen track.

the whole premise is kind of ridiculous...whats the point? every year most horses get better....how does that mean jaycito and uncle mo are as good? you forget about all the horses that look great at 2 yo and reverse badly the next year because the others have gotten better at a faster pace....the horses in the BC juve should have promise or they would of not run in it. more times than not the winner is ahead of the game but it does not last the next year...i think one won the derby (street sense) and in reality he was the third best 3 yo. thats the problem with people that think this is science......numbers...it is not. these horses are like kids learning a sport. 1 year is a lifetime in difference with some...its individual...not a "group rate".

I just wish some of you would hurry up and die of stupidity already.

Jesus, I'm confounded how a few of you are even capable of being able to operate simple machines.

Actually, stupidity is rarely fatal.

If anything, it seems to be a trait that favors reproductive success.

At least my stupidity earned me some free PPs.

The sole basis for my statement that Pletcher's 3yos fire first time out was R Heat Lightning's Davona Dale blitz.

Didn't realize she ran in the Forward Gal...

Fantastic. I do believe this to be a regional problem though.

Wow, Huleo and his opponent fight like girls.

And what's with the Huleo spelling?

Were those two videos of your alma matter?

I almost feel sorry for you.
