As for Palace Music, did you notice that in his one really bad race, he got trounced by the grandsire of one of the greatest horses of the last 30 years?

The other race he finished poorly, 4th by 9, he got beat by the underrated and forgotten Commanche Run.

I was going to say Banner Bob, but I think he was a Ky bred on further reflection.

I guess Groovy, though I was no fan of his. I have a feeling I am forgetting someone pretty obvious.

He was freakishly good. He beat Turkoman at 7F as a 3YO....and Turkoman was good fresh. This was all after running in the Derby I think. They tried, but they couldn't ruin him.

Graell rode a bunch of winners that my father trained in Cleveland. He swears he was the best of a good Thistledown room in the 80's.

He was the King of Thistle.

I still see him around fairly often.

I'm sure not the best Texas Bred ... but there was a good one in the Carter with Cannon Shell and A Phenomenon...
