Most of the things said about Beck are not close to being true. It's to keep people from hearing what he has to say. It might open up their eyes just a little. I have never heard a call to arms from Beck. Just the opposite actually , he calls for non-violence.

Please post the court records where Beck caused some idiot to attempt an assassination. That was your point wasn't it? What part of Malkins editorial was untrue? It was an opinion piece Riot.

Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was "thinking about killing [filmmaker] Michael Moore" and pondered whether "I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it," before concluding: "No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong?"

BECK: Hang on, let me just tell you what I'm thinking. I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus -- band -- Do, and I've lost all sense of right and wrong now. I used to be able to say, "Yeah, I'd kill Michael Moore," and then I'd see the little band: What Would Jesus Do? And then I'd realize, "Oh, you wouldn't kill Michael Moore. Or at least you wouldn't choke him to death." And you know, well, I'm not sure.

I had close relatives running for their lives and watching their friends die at too young of an age at Columbine. Moore is on my not too cool list after that flick. Thanks anyway. I don't want to see any harm come to him though, freedom of speech trumps all. I believe that.

You mean this week he "calls for non-violence". Otherwise, you mean like when he joked about poisoning Nancy Pelosi? Or talked about wanting to kill Michael Moore? Or told people they may have to take up arms?

Glenn Beck is a television and radio shock-jock. He plays to his audience with theatre.

It may have been "tongue in cheek", but read the Media Matters link I posted, down at the bottom, where three people arrested for threatening violence say listening to Glenn Beck talk about it influenced them. The crazy latch onto anything.

Talking about killing people you don't like, politically, for ratings, is wrong. It's creates an environment where violence becomes socially acceptable. Even Sarah Palin said, in her famous last speech of her political career two days ago, that words can cause violence (about the only thing I agreed with in her victim screed). Palin should know, she got a whole lot of people angry and worked up last August over imaginary "death panels" - a lie she told to get people angry and worked up.

It's not a joke. We don't need to lighten the fucl< up - some need to tone down talking about killing people.

No. Freedom of speech does not trump all. This is a democracy. Other people have rights to freedom that are greater than your mouth. That is the point. Freedom of speech doesn't trump being able to yell "fire" in a theatre. Neither does it trump terroristic threatening (as several have learned just this past week after they were arrested)

Society decides what's right or wrong. It always has. Talking about killing people in the public eye, for ratings, as a joke, is wrong. Society is all over that right now. You are free to keep defending it.

I've never seen anybody say you can't listen to Glenn Beck. But if he wants to talk about killing people, he shouldn't get too upset when his fellow Americans exercise their freedom of speech and call him out publically to be a dangerous, violence-inciting jackass, and threaten his job because they don't want to hear that crap on the airwaves about racists, and killing people, and "someone ought to go blow them away". Freedom of speech goes both ways.

The overwhelming theme of Sarah Palin's 7-minute victim screed was that she really, really doesn't like being on the receiving end of her very own political methods. It was hilarious. The far right hysterics can dish it out, but damn, they can't take their own medicine.
