Yep - but I think all of the fractures came later on. He started at 2 and went several years without missing much time. He was a pretty good horse who just happened to run a lot more 2nd's than wins.

One was after that Big Cap at age 4. He almost made it to the Derby, having won the race that became the Sham, and ended up winning the Swaps and running 3rd at 3 in the Pacific Classic.

I think one start after that 4th to Dare And Go in the '96 Pacific Classic, he wired stablemate Alphabet Soup (who later won the BC Classic) in the Del Mar BC. The latter was coming off that awesome victory over Lit De Justice at 7f.

Keeping with the theme.

He was always spectacular going 10fs at Santa Anita ... and always a good underneath horse everywhere else ....

Name him.

I think his entrymate was the more fancied of the two in his first Big Cap.

Name him.

Correct.

Lobbing a softball.... he never won another race after a 3rd in the BC Classic.

Who won that restricted Windy Sands that proved to be his final start?

Another Godolphin masterpiece.

Correct.

Snow shoes Anderson is as bad as any NFL QB to start for multiple teams.

Cat Thief was a typical Lukas horse who runs one very good race and than several horrid ones.

I've seen high school teams play more entertaining games than this. Quite often in fact.

Cat Thief triggered the largest superfecta in BC history if I'm not mistaken. A future Arlington Million winner rounded it out.
