That is such a nice story, Miss SC. Thanks for sharing.

I didn't know that MMSC, that is a good one.

Mummify was my absolute favorite horse from down-under.

I stayed at work until 6 a.m. that night calling down and checking to see if they had heard anything on him.

It's a beautiful story and yeah, felt like my heart had been ripped out that day.

He was a true champion. So sad.

Next question, so as not to continue being so depressing here.....

Hong Kong racing question but don't be scared! :D It's an easy one! Lots of the Hong Kong horses undergo name changes.....Bullish Luck was Al Moughazel, Best Gift was Carlisle Bay, Sunny Sing was, ummm.... Sacred Nuts, Vengeance of Rain was known as Subscribe.

Who was / is Eltira?

dr. fager 08-31-2006 12:18 PM

Okay who else has a question??? I don't want to hog the thread..... :)

dr. fager 08-31-2006 12:31 PM

I watched it in Chinese too...:D

I thought this was good....you may have seen it on bloodhorse last week.

This colt delivered a major Travers upset when he defeated the winners of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont in the ten-furlong race. It was the first time all three Triple Crown event winners had started in one race and were upset by another horse.
Who is the colt and in what year was the upset?
Also, name the winners of that year's Triple Crown races.

It's a year old but I never saw the Chinese version.

I don't know the answer to yours but I'll add one. Who was the last horse to beat Seabiscuit?

I was gonna request that you watch both versions but didn't want to appear pushy. :D

It was on BH? Cool! A friend in Singapore sent it to me last year..... glad they're up to date. :p

NO idea the answer(s) to yours..... those are the sort of questions that I start stressing over, try to find the answers to, and end up biting off heads of those in my life, having panic attacks, and answering the phone saying "WHAT?" in frustration and, and.....

Some smart person will be able to answer, i'm sure.

Here's an easier one for us morons..... name the three who hit the board in the Santa Monica Handicap..... aka the bad girl tri.

I'm not sure if this is a trick question...
1987's Traver's winner was Java Gold who beat
Alysheba & Bet Twice, but...
that's not right if there are three different horses

Wasn't meant to be a trick question, but three different horses won a leg of the TC this particular year

b) Recently there was a dead heat for 1st in the Hopeful? Name the horses.

c) Name the horse that won last year's Hopeful. :)
