Yeah, annoying and over the top, Bern.

Stubborn refusal to see reason? Zen

For some reason I can't read all the posts on those threads, but I'll go with Z's fans being more annoying. At least the Bernardini lovers had somewhat of a case.

Not when the "case" they were making was:

"I think bernardini is better than the Zapper...I really do if you look how easily he is winning right now and not even being asked for his best...."

or this one:
"Bernardini would destroy Secretariat and Spectacular Bid."

Two quotes from the first thread....sadly, from two different posters.

LOL!

this is why i think it's best to wait a few years after a horse has left the scene to start figuring where they stack up. and honestly, to me those comparisons seem laughable-moreso rather than less at this point. you look back at skip away (they were revisiting the late skippy today with his owner on hrtv) and he only grows in stature. bernardini-not so much.

Kinda unfair to compare a horse who ran four full seasons to a champion three-year-old who didn't run at two or four, no?

chucklestheclown 06-12-2010 07:02 PM

Are you are the one that erased my post about Kip not caring about his pedigree?

ateamstupid 06-12-2010 07:08 PM

What?

RockHardTen1985 06-12-2010 07:11 PM

Im bad sometimes, but this CLOWN has to be worse then me. Why do you even respond?

er, i wasn't comparing bernardini to skippy. i was saying that in the years since skip away retired, no one lost sight of all he accomplished, and his stature didn't diminish-if anything it grew. bernardini on the other hand....i doubt he gets much mention a few years down the road. he won't be one that later horses get measured by imo.

LOL, that sure sounds like you're comparing them. And again, it's much easier for a horse with four full seasons and 38 starts to have "stature" than it is for one with 8 starts.

chucklestheclown 06-12-2010 07:15 PM

A few posts were missing from the Rip Kip thread. I was out late but I'm sure one of mine was yanked; I wouldn't have brought it up but someone else said something. Your comments led me to believe you are the one that deleted the posts. Maybe I'll PM you or Kasept about it later.

exactly! i'm just saying that a horse should really do a lot before they start getting a ton of accolades-and i don't think in hindsight that bernardini really deserved a lot of the praise he was given that year.

hockey2315 06-12-2010 07:18 PM

I have much more respect for Bernardini now than I did when he was running.

chucklestheclown 06-12-2010 07:19 PM

And if you want to make fun of people who have no sense of sentence structure or cannot follow a logical post progression don't look at me:D

Ditto. He was no Curlin but when I hear people praising Summer Turd I want to slit my wrists.
Twice.

hockey2315 06-12-2010 07:22 PM

I think he would've proven better than Curlin if given the opportunity.

Why do you even interject? That little to do with yourself?
Why don't you start 20 posts about what they said about RHT today?
You are still clueless.
