He always seems to personally skate but every program that he has left has had to vacate their wins and Final 4 appearances. I expect that KY will complete the trifectaa...that is if he actually is able to overcome his coaching and get them there...

of course this could all just be a coincidence or misunderstanding...

otisotisotis 06-09-2010 03:08 PM

Marcus Camby took $ from an agent over the summer.
Derek Rose was ok's by the NCAA clearinghouse.....2x. The later said they weren't sure he was the one to take his SAT, they weren't sure he wasn't the one....

Those are the reasons those 2 Final Fours were vacated....hardly the soap opera that everybody likes to put around Calipari...

C'mon. College head coaches are control freaks. They know everything that is going on. Pretending that he isn't exactly what everyone knows he is, is myopic on your part.

Remember OJ doesnt have a murder conviction on his record either...

Cannon Shell 06-09-2010 03:39 PM

Not to mention that is just what the inept NCAA has caught. Think those recruits follow him around like he is the pied piper because of his wife's cooking?

Ok the first salvo was launched tonight...NEBRASKA was invited and accepted offer to Big 10. Texas AD had a staff meeting tonight informing his coaches that they could not keep Big 12 together. Texas-Tex A&M, Texas Tech, OU, OSU, Colorado heading to Pac 10 to merge with AZ and AS State to form a football div of 8 teams.

Big 10 might stay at 12 or now bring in Rutgers and Pitt and 2 others (NOT ND) to form their own 16 team. ESPN reporting that they are courting Maryland from ACC as a strong possibility!:zz:

Big East possible teams to join to replace football defections would be East Carolina, Central FLA, Memphis and possibly BC rejoining....stay tuned.

If big 10 stays at 12, do they rename themselves the "new" Big 12?

What happens to Mizzu now?

jwkniska 06-09-2010 11:36 PM

Good news

They suck at all the major sports

Kansas go to the Mountain West, and Izzo takes the Cleveland job, MSU will court Self.

Why would Self leave Kansas for another college job?

slotdirt 06-10-2010 10:02 AM

Memphis has to be psyched about these machinations. I'd have to imagine they'll end up in a better situation than CUSA when all of this is said and done.

I'm surprised the Texas schools are going to be allowed to leave the Big 12 without Baylor. Very surprised.

If Kansas is forced to play in the Mountain West in basketball they will have a hard time keep their place on the national scene. MW has a bad tv contract (cstv- which virtually no one gets), Kansas will now have to play 2 games a year against Air Force, TCU, SD State, Colorado State, Wyoming, etc.

While they can still play a tough out of conference schedule, they are going to be a tough sell to A level recruits who want to play on the big stage. It isn't as though they will fall off the face of the earth but the revenues will surely be slashed and they may not be able to afford paying guys like Self the amount of money that he makes.

I think the scenario Cannon is describing would happen over the course of like 50 years. Kansas has probably THE biggest college hoops alumni fanbase outside of Carolina maybe, and those fools travel. Kansas could play the sisters of the poor for years on end and still get the Collisons and Rushes and Collins of the world to come there. Besides, is playing Air Force, San Diego State, and Wyoming really any worse than the usual slate of Iowa State, Nebraska, and Colorado? I'd argue those three teams in particular are actually better.

Kansas will not get the recruits if your forced not to be able to start any conference game before 9pm central time. Its just not going to happen.

Add: One little mistake

Coach Pants 06-10-2010 10:38 AM

How can it be called PAC with those teams?

Why don't they just make 4 super conferences and name them after the Beatles?

slotdirt 06-10-2010 10:40 AM

Why would you want to start a game before 9:00 a.m. Central time?

There's something called TV exposure.
