Not to get in to the handicapping of the race - because it would be after the fact - but even with his odds moving like that ... I was VERY surprised by the odds on several horses in there and it really felt like the race was being run on turf how it was bet.

I got KO'd in the multi-wins the previous race .. but I think anyone who was alive going into the last race has a right to be incredibly pissed off... especially considering which horse won.

I agree with Steve, that rule is criminal. If I had a live pk4 ticket I would be abolutely furious right now.

I am sure it is because several factors, which MAY be any of the below:
  • people are too lazy to handicap the race again, and change tickets after the switch
  • some people don't care
  • some may not have known ( the P.A. system in some parts of the track suck )

Lots of off track facilities dont play sound of the tracks. Ill bet you alot of people didnt know it was off the turf until they were watching the race live. Can you imagine the surprise of some people when the race went off and they were in the dirt?

I simply cannot believe they didn't have all payouts in this. Really awful.

New York is the only other state that I know of that has the ALL going to players in off the grass races during pick 4 and 6's. Hopefully Florida changes their laws and implements one of few good laws that originated from the state of New York.

Illinois has this law also, actually, I should say Arlington has this law because I don't know what Hawthorne does.

It has to be a late change, not an early change.

There are still no internal fractions posted for the 4th race.

I'll take a listen. It's hard to keep a national audience interested when you have a lot of regional guests on. That's not anyone's fault. It's just the challenge involved. It's mainly a regional sport.

Yeah, I guess that 30 min segment with Hammerle and Kurt Hoover yesterday was a figment of our imagination.

Ya know, people in racing only care about what's going on in their " region. "

Especially during TC time. Why would I want to know where Baffert is running his plethora of 3YOs. Why would anyone in California care about what Pletcher is doing with his. And certainly nobody outside of Arkansas cares about ANYTHING going on at Oaklawn.

Evenin Andy,,, Arn't u suppose to be out with a hot lass or two on a Saturday night.

Extremely thin veil at that.

Merlinsky 02-27-2010 09:14 PM

I don't have racing in my region and I very much care about everybody else's. I'll happily live vicariously through the folks in New Mexico. Bring it on. Every last bit of it.

The Indomitable DrugS 02-27-2010 09:41 PM

I've taken a lot of critiscim from myself for my neglect of whatever region Rillito Downs and Fonner Park are in.

I seriously don't pay enough attention to those two tracks.

No, I'm just saying it's a challenge trying to keep a national audience interested when a totally regional personality is being interviewed. The guy doing the interviewing is great. It's not a knock on him. It would happen to anyone doing a national horseracing show. Hey, if I have to remind myself to listen Monday, then there's some reason for that. It's not a love. It's a like. I like the show.

You'd make a killing at Rillito Park. It's no Del Mar, but there are plenty of hot chicks too.
