Really, the most amazing thing about it is that it was never cancelled.
Though, the casino is making a friggin fortune - so getting creamed by a small number of local horse bettors for tens of thousands of dollars is really nothing more than a squirt of piss in a very huge bucket.
The only time they changed the rules was after an off-the-turf race at TuP on a Tuesday. That's when they eliminated dime supers from winning spins.
The race had a five horse field ... 3 of the horses were consistant types who always ran 70 or 80 Beyers. The other two horses in the race consisted of a halfway ok turf horse who would run 0 Beyers everytime he tried dirt - and a complete hopeless slug who probably couldn't outrun King Kong Bundy.

You basically didn't need to be very smart to see that the way to play the race was to go 10 cent supers: 1-5-7/1-5-7/1-5-7/ALL
It costs a total of $1.20 per ticket. Thankfully, the heavy favorite was beaten and it paid $1.46 per winning ticket. So, you even profited on the bet itself.
If you play 40 tickets at $1.20 a pop - it costs just $48. But with the 40 winning tickets you win 80 spins. 80 spins on avg gets me close to $800 in cash - plus $75 in gift certificates to the resteraunt upstairs - a couple free Prime Rib and Crab Leg buffets, a couple free dinner buffets, breakfest buffets, lunch buffets, concession stuff etc.
I think the only reason the light bulb went on and they saw how badly they got killed on that race was because it was on a Tuesday and almost no tracks were running. A couple of us got a little too greedy with that one .. but thankfully, they only opted to eliminate dime supers - which made it harder - but you still couldn't possibly lose.
