Plus he says he isnt changing position, lol

McCain spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan said her boss has not shifted his position.

She noted that Mullen said repeatedly that he was speaking for himself and not for the military, and she dismissed Gates's testimony because he was expressing the Obama administration's line.

"There has to be a determination from our military leaders that they think it is a good idea to change the policy; then, of course, Senator McCain will listen to them."

mullens said he was speaking for himself, but that's the way he feels, and he is a leader of our military. i think mccain is trying to be a bit disingenuous here. typical pol. besides, he did say military leaders and gates most definitely is one-regardless of whose line they think he's spouting.

but i do think the senate is correct in placing a moratorium on discharges while they discuss repealing the law.

That's exactly what he normally does. Fact is he's been a master manipulator all his life. Had favored treatment due to his father n' grandfather. Graduated from the Naval Academy 894th out of 899. Was a sub-par flier who crashed twice, and also collided with power lines. Which really is one step up from that Turk (last week) taking down that foot bridge by forgetting to put the bed down on his dump truck. Then, he got shot down in Hanoi. They only allowed him to live because of his father being an Admiral. He has been ridin' (ridin', ridin') that hero horse for over 35 years. That is one tired horse. He's an adulterer, and simply an opportunistic attention seeker that routinely says (and does) stupid crap. Like having a totally uninformed liar/narcissist on the Presidential Ticket. That was stupid, but just get the hero eraser out for the 1000th time. Stupidly said "The fundamentals of our economy are strong." Then he ditched Letterman, and had to admit he "screwed up." That Hero Horse he's riding is carrying a damn heavy load. Then doesn't stick up to fight for the dignity of his own campaign finance bill that the Supreme Court pssd all over. He believes what he thinks is needed to be believed at the time. This individual has very little integrity.

can't argue with any of that. i read the rolling stone article when he was running for prez-i'd forgotten about his banking scandal.
had he stuck to his guns, and had lieberman on his ticket, i may have voted for him. but no way in the world would i vote for that diva he chose to placate the right.

the right wingers, but you knew that.

ArlJim78 02-04-2010 04:55 PM

the current policy is not right and the time has come to change it. I'm sure the military can adapt and make it work out.
