Sorry ... I meant the stud farms ... the syndicates ... the big-name stallion owners ... they almost always come out ahead.

But not the broodmare and yearling owners ... they can take a hosing too.

Although in some cases ... they are one and the same.

That's exactly how Rex Elsworth started his breeding barn. He found mares with good conformation and didn't care what thier race record was. The same applied to his first stallons and he managed to produce Swaps and a few other good horses.

We might note that his Champions weren't much when they went to the breeding shed. They never really produced much, so I guess you do need some blue blood in there.

LOL!!!
He invites them over to pass the bottle of red around the campfire, just a few feet away from the refrigerator box...in the "shadow roll" of the underpass, in between windshield "jobs" and "deposit bottle collecting".
Don't fret his library time must be almost up. His friends have to wait outside because if they don't bathe, they won't be allowed inside the library.
Stinks up the books, ya know.
The things people do to go to "townhall.com"......

As much as I love Indy, this colt clearly has little ability and the owners want to cut their losses. Even the best stallions sire their share of duds........

They're cutting more than just their losses.
