Revis will make Jackson a nonfactor (Gates worries me, but Rhodes did a good job on Gonzalez) and the Jets got gashed by the Bengals on the ground, while SD has no running game whatsoever. Their defense also can't stop the run, so it seems unlikely that Sanchez is suddenly going to have to throw for 300 yards. It's hard to be very confident going up against a red-hot team like them, but I don't think anything about the matchup is particularly difficult.

I don't think of them as one dimensional. I just don't think that they are a running team anymore. They have transformed in to an effencient passing team. No arguement about Revis, who ever he covers will most likely have a quiet day. But Rivers (who I believe has started the transformation into a top tier QB, he is extremley smart and doesn't make many mistakes) has other options and I believe he will be able to take advantage of the very agressive Jets Defense. 3 Kings mentioned Sproles and I believe that he will neutralize the Jets blitz to an extent. Also try to play with the lead, they fell behind to the Bengals and stormed right back. But you can't really compare the 2, the Bengals aren't running away with anything, while the Bolts will run you right out the building.
But once again it really comes down to Sanchez and the offense. Long drives, moving the ball and not turning it over. He/they were excellent on both sides of the ball against what seemed to be a very offensively lacking Bengals team. They bent a bit with Benson but never broke. And the passing game just never felt like they were going to be a threat (especially with Ocho stuck on Revis island).
The Jets scored 24 this week in what was almost a perfect offensive performance. Obviously the weather will be much better this week, but you would think the gameplan will be similar. 24 points gives them an excellent shot to win this game, realistically if they score 24 they should win. Can they repeat or be even better than last week performance against what I percieve to be a much better and very well rested Chargers team, we'll see. But Gang Green is cooking right now and playing with lots of confidence. I have said all along that the only thing that could stop the Jets from making a run is Sanchez. He was excellent last week, but I'm sticking with that theory.
One more side note.....I usually don't read too much into betting lines, but it seems like Vegas is begging you to bet the Jets getting 8 1/2 in the paper. It just seems a bit high to me.
Hoping it's a good game, good luck to you Jets fans. I would say that I'm rooting for you guys, but you all know that it would be a lie. But Good Luck anyway.
