Agreed. He's not coming.

When was the last Arc winner to come over for the BC, I seem to remember Pentre Celebre coming over in 91 or something, not sure if there have been many off the top of my head.

Coach Pants 10-05-2009 03:17 PM

There's no way he's running again. Why risk it?

I ask the same thing about The Steelers. I mean they won the Super Bowl last year. It's too risky to play this year! Take a break guys! Competition is not good! Oh my vagina!

Dylan Thomas! plus i was surprised to hear Tsui say he's 50-50 to go to the BC. I has it at 95% he would be retired after yesterday!

I don't think they are coming over either, but with Raven's Pass winning last year on the synthetic that may have opened some eyes. Don't forget, Henry the Navigator, another Euro was second. The $5 million purse is also very tempting.

You think they have a lot to lose by going in the Classic? They have a lot to lose if he's beat on the Turf but on the synthetics there is a built in excuse.

The Indomitable DrugS 10-05-2009 04:47 PM

I hope Richard's Kid wins the Classic. I'd love to see a really bad Eastern dirt horse win it.

I was so uninspired I not only didn't watch racing this weekend, I didn't even check the results until this afternoon. A synthetic BC kills my interest once Toga is done (and I'm even going to the BC).

Honestly I forgot all those races were even run this weekend until I got to work today. I really wish I was going to Cali with you :(

I wish you were going to so I can put those fingers to work, 1 margarita per 15 minute massage, you get 8 :)

I've got a room with two queen beds if you can find a cheap flight.

A loss to end his career regardless of surface will be a sour note to end on. He wouldnt lose the turf unless the jock fell off.

Arc winners are notoriously great bets in the Turf.

I keep saying that and getting ignored. This reminds me of all the Dylan Thomas talk from a few years ago.

PURSE MONEY....Geez you always forget about how important purse money is to owners, remember they have to keep score.

TropicalStorm 10-05-2009 09:06 PM

Purse money means nothing to this owner. This horse is worth between 50 and 100 million US dollars. The purse money from the Classic works out to about 2 million to the owner after taxes and trainer and jockey. Travel is another 100K. This horse can earn 2 million in a single week in the breeding shed.

He is not a great horse with a decent pedigree. He is not a filly. He is the best horse in decades with a perfect pedigree. He is arguably the greatest stallion prospect ever. He is such a good prospect that the downturn in the market will do little to hurt his value.

There is no chance he ever races again. The BC will likely flatter him more when all his victims dominate eveything.

Let me guess, you are a PR specialist or a marketing guru type.

Did you write the press release for the Zensational stud deal?
